So I pre ordered from Apple but I am getting an expected delivery date from 30th Sept - 7th Oct. Anyone know if Apple under promises on the delivery date and I could expect it sooner?

I have the same slot, it translates to sept 30th delivery. They’d never wavered on their promise

Ordered a Silver 256GB Pro Max and 256 Space Grey Pro from Three and we're very much in the "it'll arrive, when it arrives" bucket at the moment :D

Was told 01/10 but you can apparently still order for release day on the Website. Not too fussed just wish there was a way to track it other than waiting for a DPD text on the day of delivery

How are giffgaff for trading in? That’s more than MM offered for my X. Also might just re-up for the music magpie to reset the clock. Only £5 less than my offer

Exact same here £700 saved in basket on the thrusday and on friday once i secured 11 pro for the 20th went in to MMP to finalise and my basket / saved baskets had dissappeared 2 * iphone and an ipad. grrrr (ps got £642 instead) :(

I “checked out” to lock in my price but that does get your 14 day timer starting

That’s for the US

Yes, the UK Amazon website here is selling 100 percent unlocked and sim free iPhones. Exactly the same you’d get at the apple store.

In the past I bought a 7 plus and x from amazon Uk with zero issues

Well went for the plunge. Ordered IP11 128GB White model. Ideally wanted a IP11 Pro Max but couldn't justify the expense. Ordered through Carphone Warehouse on 12 month contract with O2 (already with them) with delivery expected date of 20th September. Looking forward to review embargo lifting to see if it is worth it or not. Primarily bought it for better battery life, more real screen estate and the camera. Have used IOS 13 on IPP and love it so looking forward to also seeing that on the IP11.

Do amazon.co.uk show the shipping details from Apple, or just from the point where Amazon dispatch it? I've seen no update on my Amazon order

Does a super slim clear case exist?

I really like to Tozo & Torras thin cases, but I’d really like an equivalent, but the clear (TPU?) ones seem to add width and height.

ive had a tozo case for my Xs since day one. It’s the slim one and I love it. Doesn’t offer much protection if you drop it but I tend to look after my devices. Amazon now have the slim tozo case for the iPhone 11 pro which i will be buying

£1000 phone.... £3.49 case

I have always bought £3-5 clear or coloured phone cases from eBay. They are as good as the £45 pound ones sold by Apple, Samsung or a Google. :D

Remember that margins on accessories are very high for phone manufacturers and phone retailers.

Some official ones are a rip off as they are made in same factory as those that cost £3-5. It’s no different than TV and home cinema stores trying to sell you £40 gold plated HDMI cable when one by Amazon essentials for a tenth of the price is just as good.

You speak a lot of sense. Unfortunately, people tend to place a lot of value on designer labels, especially the Apple logo.

I bought a silicone case from Elago yesterday for £12.99 and it is actually of equal (if not better) quality to the official Apple silicone case that I bought a few days ago for £45 (!!!!). In fact in one respect it’s certainly better because it is enclosed at the bottom whereas the Apple version is open. I’d recommend it if you don’t mind not having the “precious” Apple logo on the back:

Elago Liquid Silicone Gel Rubber Shockproof Case Compatible with Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max (6.5") - Premium Silicone, Full Body Protection : 3 Layer Structure, Raised Lip for Screen & Camera (Black)

Mine too, but I’m not too worried by that. I’ve had a fair few Amazon orders ship days before they say they will, in this case I’d say somebody messed up and didn’t mark them as “release day” ready so any older orders now show 21st Sep, but will ship Thursday.

Indeed. More expensive cases aren’t always better.

One added bonus of buying a cheap clear case is that they are cheaper to replace every 12 month because discolouration and wear and tear which even affects expensive ones.
