Still no movement on my EE account to confirm whether or not I’ll be getting a phone on Friday, no help from live chat or over the phone either, which is a little worrying. Guess I’ll have to wait and see if I get a text today.

According to @Isaacd93 your ee online track should say “dispatch expected in the next 24hr” when they’re about to ship.

anyone else unable to change the delivery to a local store? I'm at work tomorrow and EE insisted they had to deliver to my home address. Normally I'd set it to deliver to a local store and pickup from there but that doesn't seem to be an option, I don't know if its because it needs ID or because they don't actually have it yet.
 
I’m on the iPhone Upgrade Program but my nearest Apple store is over 2 hours away, so I usually have to wait for a weekend or two later to arrange to go. This means I can’t pre order as soon as it goes live because Apple doesn’t give you a choice on the date. So I waited over an hour and when I reserved my Midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro 256GB it said “arrives before October 9th,” which was perfect for me. But I’ve just received an email to say it’s arrived at the store. Has there been a ton of cancellations or what? How does the date slip twice from release day then all of a sudden I’m being told it’s ready to collect on Friday. Bizarre

I did take an ee delivery earlier this year and they did indeed ask for ID (passport or driving licence).
 
I had no issues with MM last week. All smooth and paid up straight away

Cool, thanks for the reply. My 8 is in great nick, just the odd almost imperceptible scratch if you hold it in a certain light. The voucher code taking it to 308 quid is also handy!
 
Can't decide between Music Magpie or Envirofone (who I used last time). Had a friend who recently had a bad experience with MM.

I used Music Magpie this year after having used Envirofone every year previously. MM prices appeared to be better this time, plus you can send it using their QR code and avoid having to pay extra for special delivery. Money for my XS was in the bank the day after they received the phone – so no complaints.

I took photos and a video of it to shows it’s condition before I sent it just in case

My Sky Mobile order has changed to awaiting dispatch and I know that at least one has had dispatch confirmation email so I guess they’re getting through them. Though a bit irked that the guy who has had dispatch confirmation ordered after me, but different model so they might work through them by model instead of by order.
 
Got my EE DPD delivery, but I cannot change to collect from a pickup point or from the depot.

I did this last year with no issues, anyone else not able to do this? Should I wait until tomorrow to try?

What should I expect when I arrive at the store?
When you come in for your reservation, let a Specialist know you’re there to pick up your iPhone. Once you check in, we can answer all your questions, help you enrol in the iPhone Upgrade Programme and set up your new iPhone just the way you like.

Can someone else pick up my iPhone?
Yes. When you reserve your iPhone, you can choose to authorise someone else to pick it up for you. The person who picks up the iPhone will be responsible for starting a new iPhone Upgrade Programme loan agreement.

Can I change or cancel my reservation after I’ve confirmed it?
Yes. You can cancel your reservation with the Apple Store app. Just download the app here, go to My Reservations, find your product and choose Cancel. While you’re in the store, you can change your iPhone model. Just ask a Specialist to check its availability. Keep in mind that due to high demand, the availability of some models and reservation times may be limited.

What if I’m late for my reservation?
Please arrive as close to your check-in window as possible. If you’re late, or if you miss your scheduled time, we may not be able to hold the model you reserved. That means you may have to make another reservation.
 
Nothing from Carphone yet either. I ordered about 3/4PM on preorder day as they were still advertising release day delivery but I'm not sure I trust them 👀

I ordered through CPW too, although only Tuesday this week. It was still showing as delivery for the 20th (11 pro, 256gb) and confirmed with live chat it’d be available to collect on launch day. They’ve taken the money, or at least the charge appears on my credit card statement.

All seemed a bit too easy!
