Restoring from a 13.1 beta is proving more difficult than I thought! Downloaded the beta fine OTA but then had some issues getting my Mac to restore (running Catalina). Also deleted my iCloud backup the other day thinking I was fine. I think I've just about got it working. Me and betas are done for a while 🤪

Having issues, with upgrading it keeps looping. Force restart and back to the normal home screen.

I just reset the device from the settings menu and then set it up as new again, just with the iOS 13.1 beta installed.

I believe you’ll have to erase the phone and set up again

Anyone who restored from backup unable to get the "Capture outside the frame" working? The feature where it shows what would be captured by the ultra wide camera in the camera app. It was switched off in settings, after switching it on I still don't get anything but black bars.

Nevermind.... working now!

amazon are saying they are waiting for
CC authorisation. I use this card all the time with them!

Email/chat people are not helpful at all.

If you use iCloud to sync your contact and photos then just set up as new and both will automagically move over to the new phone.

nick is knocking off someone's wife at delivery 2...! She really doesn't need all those things she keeps ordering..

My experience was flawless today.. Turn up at Cambridge Grand Arcade at 9:15 for a 10:30 iUP appt, zero queue, he asked me to stand in it anyway for 15 seconds until lovely young lady comes to get me, 15 minutes later, all sorted, otterbox case I'd already bought was with us 15 seconds after the phone and out I walk.. Queue probably half the length of the rope (20 odd people) Sadly no Edition watches at all in JL or the Apple Store, Vodafone had one but I can't have e-sim on my phone so I didn't bother.. Will have to wait until Wednesday for my SBTI to come...

Left town after running other errands at almost exactly my appointment time and the queue was the full length of the rope, only about 50 people.. Only downer was walking through a closed stairwell where someone had clearly just smoked some incredibly strong weed, like awful stuff.. had to drive home very carefully and I can still feel a bit weird from it now.. 27 minutes on the data transfer from my X to my XI Pro Max in Midnight green!

Yes you can. iCloud data is still there even if you setup as new. You will only need to download apps and log into them again etc

Yes, lots do. For example 1Password just needed my master password and good to go. Some don’t, like Instagram, but assuming you have a password manager integrated or use Keychain it’s pretty easy to auto fill as you go

I think this is where an encrypted backup helps.

They are selling out of the Pros in most sizes but have plenty of standard 11’s left.
