A few questions:
First, I’m sending my xs off to Carphone warehouse, should I include the box etc. They have quoted me £600 I hope they hold to that.

secondly, do you think I’ll be able to return my opened Apple clear case to John Lewis?

Nice try.

The chap I spoke to on the phone after my last “experience” here (that offered me a free case), tried to wiggle out of giving me the folio case, “as it’s too expensive”.

I politely showed him the email he sent me offering me a “free case of my choosing” and after a bit more wriggling, he said he would “make an exception”.

My kids have XRs and they’re waiting until the 24th (I think that’s the date of 13.1) - I had it on my xsmax for 24 hours and apart from one random crash it was fine. If you’re not desperate for it I’d wait a few days but if you want to play I’d happily go for it!

What is your opinion of the 11 screen compared to your X? I’m considering returning my 11 Pro and swapping it for a 11 as I’m not sure the extra monthly cost is worthwhile or not. I had upgraded from a X.
 
All you people buying the official Apple clear case and returning it!
I can’t believe people even contemplated paying that amount of money for something you can get for a tenth of the price off Amazon.
I have a clear case coming today and it was £3. Even if it yellows after a month, if I replaced it every month it still wouldn’t cost me as much as what Apple are charging for theirs! 🤪

Oh well. No idea when my phone is arriving. Sky Mobile don't have stock for most models (currently) but at least I'm ahead of the queue as I pre-ordered. My first world problem is that there is no way of knowing (aside from 1-2 weeks for anyone ordering now) when mine will be dispatched. I could have cancelled and then taken a silver 512Gb instead of the 256Gb Space Grey Max - but no chance am I getting something I don't want just to have it in my hands quickly. I'll just have to suck up the time and live in purgatory until something happens. Super frustrating.

you could say you could by another brand of triple lens phone for the fraction of the price of a pro and if it yellows return that too?

But hey, we’re all dropping circa £1000 on a phone so..

I’ve made a few comments now coming from an X to an 11 the screen is way better than I expected it to be and can hardly notice any difference even when I had the two phones next to each other

just because you’re spending over a grand on a phone doesn’t mean you should spend nearly £50 on a clear case. 🤣
But I guess you all returning it shows it’s not worth it. 😉

I bought it just to see what difference it really is. I always stick with spigen cases and thats what i will likely stick to for the most part.

maybe evenings out i may use the apple case again as it doesn’t have the kickstand sticking out...i have 3 cases that i will likely rotate and use.
 
What’s the general rule of thumb if you pay (reserve) for instore pick up but miss your pick up window (so not the iUP rather paying up front on a card). Seem to recall they retain in store for sometime ?

My 11 Pro Max is still stuck on “processing” with a “delivers September 30th - 7th October” I’m really hoping it’s before the 4th of October. I’m going to see Fern Brady live on that day and would love to take some awesome pictures :)

yep, I’m comparing an XS to the XR, I bought the XS at launch last year and used it for around 5 months but found the screen a bit too small, I gave the XS to my daughter and bought myself an XR, the differences at normal handling distance are so small as to be inconsequential. The extra screen size and superior battery life make it a better phone for me.

Agreed, I suspect there’s a bit of snobbery going on and the XR/11 screen just can’t be good enough.
