I have an offer from music magpie but can't see any date to send my phone? Also, I sold my X last year to them without any problem but a friend this year, who I trust and know is extremely careful sold a phone to them. They replied that the screen was cracked. He is 100% certain that it wasn't and double wrapped it and secured it. Just wondering how sage MM are?

Will find out in a few days myself!

A few people say they’ve had a problem but just as many saying it’s been fine.

I’ve taken photos and videos of the phone before I sent it in.

Select your phone and the pane on the right gives 0% 24 months examples. Maybe Apple are moving to align with the US where it is 24 months 0%?

Looks like iPhone Payments has changed to 24 months from 20 months, lot of inconsistency on the site, but thats the only option when choosing the non upgrade programme route.

Just tried out of curiousity.

Does make the price a bit more stomachable, e.g. 256GB Pro is £49.00 + my current Sim only would make it £60. I dont wanna pay that much per month either lol, considering I paid £32.50 for my iPhone 7 128GB.

64GB is £42

I had the iPhone X on iup. So last year when it came to getting the XS I didn’t just hand the phone back to apple and take out a new iup plan for the phone.

My outstanding loan with Barclays (can’t remember the numbers for the X exactly) was say £500 but by selling my X privately i made £650. I then payed off the balance and pocketed the difference. Also because your loan include AppleCare, and that is for 24 months you can get a refund for the remaining you have left ~£90.

Fast forward another year and instead of giving apple my XS and moving to the pro, I’ve sold my phone to music magpie for £704. My loan balance is about £575. This leaves me £130 better off again. Then add the £90 for apple care then it’s £220
Awesome cheers for telling me that, hopefully I can do something similar next year, I was under the impression you had to give it back to Apple lol

There’s been a few mentions ( like in the t&cs on apple.com) that’s there’s this 24m 0% offering but I’ve seen no publicising of this on any of the pages!

Maybe it’s another offering available in store they dont really talk about
Right. I like this option better as the monthly costs are lower and I can buy AC+ outright (somehow it doesn't seem as bad as I'll get 12 AC+ refunded from my current one).

I ordered a few different colours with the view I’ll cancel the ones I didn’t want but they’ve all almost instantly gone to preparing for shipment which means I can’t cancel them on the app. Anyone had any luck cancelling them now?

In that case, if I’m not saving anything (monthly) by cancelling AppleCare, I may as well reserve an iPhone 11 (non Pro) which would cut my monthly payments to around £30 (with no AppleCare) as opposed to my current payments of £54 on my XS.

:)

Yes if your ultimate goal is to save money and you’re not fussed if it’s the 11 or 11 pro

No, they still show iPhone Payments as 20 months. The below screen shot is just now from the website

There’s this other mystery 24 month 0% they keep referencing but don’t advertise

Nope. All iup is you getting a loan from Barclays. Apple get paid the full amount for the phone and apple care from Barclays. They lay no claim to your phone but say they’ll take your phone after 11 months knowing full well they’re making a profit. It’s basically like them giving you a really **** trade in price...

Thanks for outlining this, this is great! Quick question - how quickly do you have to “settle” your loan before Apple allow you to take IUP again? So for example this year, surely you had to sell and “settle” your XS early? Or will they simply let you take out 2 IUPs...?

...so what happens next September then if I choose iPhone Payments this year? Can I still hand back the iPhone 11 to Apple and it pays off the remaining balance or do I HAVE TO sell it privately to cover the balance if I want to upgrade?

I really don’t like adding any bulk nor keen on covering my phone colour. I typically use a clear silicon cover sourced from Amazon.

iPhone payments you can’t hand it to apple. Only under IUP you can.

But regardless it’s a waste of money to do that anyway. You will be at least £100 better off selling/or phone recycler than just giving it back to apple

Anyone who’s employer uses ‘corporate perks’ I’ve just checked and whist there an not discounts on phones, there’s 10% on accessories. A fiver off the case!

Ok cheers for that, appreciate all the advice. ;)

My mind is now made up - finally!:p

Missed day one delivery for the midnight green 11 pro 256GB from apple and don't really want to wait until the 25th-30th.

Has anyone ordered from amazon ? looks like it's in stock still so may get it on day 1 or possibly hold out and keep checking daily to see if it comes back in stock for store collection sooner

I've never had a problem with Amazon. They're one of the best companies in the world. They have excellent return policy. I've recently ordered 4 £200+ headphones from them and returned (no questioned asked, and after several weeks) no problem at all. I'd say they are as good as Apple re customer service.

Meanwhile my order still isn’t going through! Damn finance what the hell
I had the same with my X when I used finance. Went the standard PayPal Credit route (4 months interest free) and will pay it off in 2 months.

Order went through straight away (preempted signing up to PayPal credit) and have got a delivery date of Friday.

@Jinjin Do I just go through the IUP process in the Apple Store App but tell them I want iPhone Payments when I go and pick up in store (obviously the price for IUP a month is around £40 as opposed to around £30 for iPhone Payments)?
