I was actually thinking about trying that.

I don’t want to remove the App, but I might pick a day that I’m not going to be out and about, disable contact tracing, and see if it makes any difference.

Well done! I think I'll just keep mine and wait a few extra days, I guess I have patience, perhaps, or maybe I'm just lying to myself haha

Anyone here buying from Apple on finance? I know you have to pick up in store but with the way things are going I was wondering if you were given the option to have your new iPhone mailed to you?

I’m waiting for the Pro Max and my nearest store is the Liverpool one which is currently in the High Risk zone. If you get approved for finance then I don’t see why they can’t mail out to you?

A diversion into the world of Samsung with the S7 followed by my current Honor View 20.

I've ordered the 12 Pro in Blue which should arrive on Friday.
In the meantime I've dug out my old 6s and have been reaquainting myself with the world of IOS. I've been following this discussion and have ordered and received screen protectors from LK, a Ringke Onyx case from a helpful link from another poster on this forum and also a Wallet case from Ocase. ( I know it covers the screen but I've got used to having my Bank cards and travel pass in the C/Card slots )

The LK screen protectors came with a protector for the camera lens but my instincts tell me that fitting one might degrade the optics as it's an extra reflective surface in front of the lens.
I ordered ( and cancelled ) the Apple magnetic charger as I wasn't sure if the charger would stay attached when the phone is taken off charge. ( I have a nice wood effect platform wireless charging stand that I used on my S7, it was easy just to plonk it on the stand and let it charge when at my computer desk )

Current plan is with Plusnet Mobile, 4 Gig for £7 per month on a rolling one month contract. No 5G yet where I live.
Really looking forward to Friday and hope the swap over from my View 20 is as painless as possible.

Might have been me linking the case! Hope you like it. Although I've yet to fill it with a phone I'm hopeful it fits. It feels a decent case.

You don’t have to pick up in store, I bought my 12 on finance and it’s being delivered Friday to my home.

For those who bought the silicone cases, does it pick up lint especially when taking it out of the trousers? Realised the silicone case I had for my XS had quite a bit of that.
 
Do deliveries come at any time of the day, or can you set the delivery time? Would be nice to get early
