Just sent back my clear case. Picked up by UPS in under an hour from filling out the returns form. Very impressive.

Bought a silicone one from John Lewis with their introductory pricing and saved a few quid at least. Should have gone with silicone in the first place. I never learn!

What I mean is last year I was on an 'anytime upgrade' plan, where you could upgrade (for a charge) after 14 days, then for less of a charge after 6 months, then no charge after a year.

This year I just upgraded, assumed I'm on the same until I read that post, now I am not sure lol

Edit: Just checked and they do offer an anytime upgrade as standard:

https://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/iphone-12-pro-5g/details

EE’s ‘anytime upgrade’ is a con. I was on it and when they revealed this years prices all plans had increased in cost. You can only upgrade to a plan equivalent or greater than your old one and even then the choice is deliberately limited. I paid off the contract , sold the phone , pocketed £130 and went to sim only with buying from apple direct.
those who want to stick with EEs upgrade cycle might also want to consider keeping the handset, not trading it in and doing the ‘no device to trade’ upgrade and then sell it privately. For a 11 pro 256, the fee was only £450, and your could get £685 privately.

I am from Sheffield but ordered for delivery but you should be okay. Meadowhall have announced they aren't shutting anything, just make sure you wear a mask etc.
Thanks, like I say I'm collecting Friday evening, lockdown set from 00:01 Saturday, so literally 'in before the lock' with this one.

Cheers

This may sound a bit weird, but anyone up for a podcast regardinig pre-order day excitement, spotify owns a great app which allows you to record with multiple people for podcasts, would be nice to speak with a few of you on how you are coping with the delay, which ones you got etc.

Has anyone ordered through Carphone Warehouse this year, haven't seen many mentions of them?

I am hoping to pick up a pro max from them with their extra £50 trade in but trying to decide if the £50 is worth it versus ordering direct from Apple.

I ordered through mobiles.co.uk which are the same company. My iPhone is delayed to the 17th November as CPW seem to have struggled with demand.

I doubt it’s a glitch as I got the same email. I thinking about cancelling and waiting to see if there’s any better deals on Black Friday.
I can’t be bothered to go through the cancellation thing and order again as I’m happy with the deal I got which I haven’t seen beaten yet. I will be complaining though and asking for a month to be taken off the contract as I don’t want it ending in November 2022 after the iPhone 14 is released. It’s their cock up so I want something back for the inconvenience and I’m persistent enough to get what I want lol.

I agree 100%. My equivalent price plan was £2 cheaper, so to upgrade I have to get the 256gb and pay £50 for the handset (which I want back) and £2 more p/m for two years.. I emailed Marc Allera on Monday and no one has contacted me yet so chased today. Not sure how yours was £450 though as this website says its £495

What time / date did you order? Them sites are pretty difficult when it comes to securing devices because the sheer amount of people who flock to them sites to get the best pay monthly deals, which is understandable opposed to paying more through the carriers themselves.

not really heard that from Apple before.. its usually the dates that come in.

which model did you go for? when did you get your order in?

That was my post you are quoting but the name is mixed up. I didn’t order from Apple btw, too expensive. I ordered through mobiles.co.uk (Carphone Warehouse). I’ve used them before and never had delays this bad. The stock must be obscenely short this year.

One thing is different with this thread this year... people haven't been hunting down their serial numbers to find out what week their iPhone was manufactured in 😂

How do you even do that? I want to when the time comes lol

That's because we haven't got them yet. As soon as I get mine, I'm posting!

There is nothing on the Gov website saying you can't visit other areas... You sure this is a thing?
From what I can tell tier 3 isn’t actually much different, most places are still open other than casinos, soft play areas and basically places which Isn’t really going to effect people’s day to day lives. I’m sure people can survive not going to the local betting shop..

hairdressers, gyms etc can stay open, shops are open, and we can still go to the pub, you just need to make sure you order a XL BBQ beef burger with your pint or you’ll get kicked out! 😂

I think the main difference is just that apparently you’re not allowed to mix with other households

Back on topic!

I ordered on the 16th at 13.14pm so just fourteen minutes after the pre orders went live. My wife ordered about 5 minutes after me and has the same predicted date. Yeah the carriers were not matching the deals so I always check this site, CPW official site, USwitch and affordablemobiles etc before placing an order.

Can you post a link please Dino?
Also a massive fan of Mujjo

Here's the link - https://www.mujjo.com/cases/iphone/iphone-12-pro hope you don't mind @Dino F

...beaten to it!!! Its fine...!!!

There is just one niggle with this case - its the open bottom :

....but I guess my iPhone XS was the same so its no different to that!

Not sure if Apple's leather cases are gonna be like the silicone ones whereby the bottom is all enclosed - if they are, then I may swap to that one later on!

Not sure if you are joking or....

But yes, its a thing, taken from .gov website:

In addition, we are advising people not to travel into or out of an area if it has been categorised as a very high alert level area. This is part of wider measures to help manage the risk of transmission. You can continue to travel into or out of very high alert level areas if you need to for work, education, to access youth services or because of caring responsibilities.

Basicaly my point, I'm not sure "I'm collecting my new iPhone" will count...
