Morning UK iPhone crew! How excited is everyone? It seems like last Friday was a lifetime ago, such is the time distortion phenomenon of the limbo week between preorder and release day with Apple stuff!

Anyone here order with O2 last Friday? Mine said 23rd October delivery all through checkout and went through immediately after preorders went live.

But nothing yet. My memory is like a sieve and despite having upgraded with O2 since around the iPhone 5 era I can't quite remember when you get the dispatch text/email.

I'm clinging on to my 11 Pro (Envirofone's offer is locked til next Tuesday) and think I'm going to Special Delivery that off today, but I'm scared my order might be delayed and not arrive tomorrow... :D

Various reviews have concluded the 5G symbol only denotes that it is the best mobile data technology available in your current location, but that it won't necessarily be the technology you'll use.

The criteria was vague to me, but it seemed to hinge on the iPhone deciding whether jumping up to 5G would be beneficial or not, so large downloads, video streaming, FaceTime and so on would benefit, but streaming audio would not for example.

This will likely be moving goal posts as 5G becomes more commonplace and the technology becomes less power hungry. It's a bit like downloading apps from the App Store - I seem to recall we can now download apps over 200mb in size over 4G, whereas this limit was once upon a time only 50mb.

Keeping a close eye on my Amazon order and just ordered the torras case with screen protectors which is arriving to tomorrow when I am working from home.

I’m also worried that my pre order won’t arrive in time and I have only until Wednesday to send mine off so I can get the guaranteed price! I did order through a third party website though, does anybody know if places like that have their own stock or does it come directly from the mobile network provider?
 
So yesterday I had no DPD tracking on my AO order and had a phone call from them saying I wouldn’t get it until next week.

Now I have this...

I’m still stuck on Processing ‘Arrives 26 Oct -28 Oct’ let’s hope it’s 26th rather than 28th
 
Well the previous two mornings I have woken up to emails stating my phone is delayed. I haven’t received one this morning so fingers crossed it only a month late and not into December. I think if I get another delay i’ll cancel it and buy an 11 Pro. I seem to be watching my current iPhones value depreciate by the day and I really should have been able to sell it by now.

On the plus side, looking at the photos of the blue 12 and I’m confident I made the right decision on colour. It’s much nicer than the pacific blue in my humble opinion even though both are nice. Fingers crossed CPW suddenly get stock and I get a DPD email sooner than expected .

Does anyone know what firmware the new iPhones are shipping with? Can’t remember how it works if I’m on a different firmware than when my new iPhone arrives
I’m currently on 14.0.1 but am holding off installing 14.1 just in case
