Other UK iPhone 12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max (2020) Orders and Dispatch Thread

Been badly let down by Three
Preordered the 12, 128gb Blue and was told categorically it would be delivered 23/10. So I’ve sold my XR in preparations for its been collected today.
Still hadn’t had any tracking info so used their live chat, only to be told it’s not going to be delivered until 4/11, even through their website was showing delivery available tomorrow.
Told me their “online” stock was delivered late from apple and they didn’t get what they were expecting.
I said I now had no phone to use for nearly 2 weeks due to this, and was offered £20 to “go and buy a cheap phone from a market” to use for that period so I could get by.
If it wasn’t for the fact I’d have to pay nearly £300 to exit my contract early I’d be leaving them.
Going to try and get one in my local three store tomorrow if not I’ll look at other options.

That's the model I went with, for £9 more (had £40 cashback) the 128GB seemed worth it. I'll definitely post a pic or two and I'd imagine the forum will be flooded with similar lol. I got asked by a colleague why I chose Chelsea blue? Strangely I didn't associate a mobile phone colour with my allegiance to a football team lol

DHL do give a time slot in my experience but compared to DPD, they can be an hour or so either side - I have two devices coming tomorrow, one DPD and one DHL........

not looking that promising on the Argos front for me rn - no movement since it was ordered & the other Argos orders now have Yodel references. Live Chat did say it could be picked / packed / tracked at any time, but it feels v. unlikely for tomorrow.

I agree, companies understand that if you have a parcel coming, leaving the call for 1 min isnt a big deal
Delivery date for my graphite pro, direct from Apple, seems to be holding steady at 2nd November.
Strangely, I'm kinda ok with this, as I've almost talked myself into seeing if I can bag an order for a Pro Max on the 6th.
If I were lucky enough to get one of those for release day, then with the 14 day return window for the standard size pro, I could possibly have both in hand to let me decide which size to actually keep.

Well earlier today I downloaded the DPD app and sorted my details on the off chance.
O2 has made no contact, people here have their deliveries from O2 with DHL.

It happens every year.
The only way of guaranteeing an iPhone on launch day is to buy from Apple. And even then there is a chance of a screw-up.
Any other seller who promises you 100% chance of launch day delivery is simply lying: mobile networks, Amazon, Currys, Argos, whoever it may be - none of them have product in their warehouses until several days minimum after you've placed your pre-order.
And just because a reseller has placed an order of X amount of product from Apple does not mean they will get it.
They are selling their chickens before they have hatched.
Meanwhile, if there is a supply chain cock-up, you can bet that Apple will starve their resellers of product to bolster their own retail channels.
It is why retailers who pride themselves on good customer service, such as John Lewis, opt-out of the pre-order game.
If you're buying from a third party, expect it to be late and then anything else is a bonus.

Me neither... just enquired on Facebook chat and received this:
"it may be dispatched overnight as our warehouses are open all hours. You should receive the tracking at some point over night, and if not in the morning"
yeah mine shows that its been received there. the actual order status page shows its still waiting for my item. Its a case of them going through the piles of phones they probably have to sort. expect it will be done tomorrow

Nice spot, opened my app and sure enough there it is! That’s a relief, plus DPD is absolutely the best in my area.
iPhone has shipped, will be here tomorrow. Silicone case received on wednesday, yet the MagSafe charger has slipped. Wont be available until monday. Should have got it from an apple store, they've plenty of stock.
