This is exactly what happened with me. Refused to give me anything at all. So I asked for my PAC

Let me know what happens. EE have been driving me nuts, despite me being a long term customer. It seems so random who they give deals to and who don’t. Spent two days with them last weekend and I’m not particularly happy with the SIM only plan I signed up for. Thinking of cancelling (still within 14 day window) and asking for my PAC, and seeing if anyone gets in touch.

Had the text through earlier to say my phone is ready for collection at the local Apple store at my designated time window. Just need to show my QR code within my wallet and present some ID. Simples. Roll on 10:30 tomorrow morning!

I'm wondering if they'll ask for it to be signed for.. I know our DPD driver, he quite often comes here and usually puts it in a different place for us. However with it being an expensive device maybe they'll be under instruction for it to be handed over?

Or with the slimmer boxes... will it go through the letterbox?!

Well, annoyingly, I had to cancel my reservation to pick up a new phone tomorrow morning as I have a full day of meetings and couldn’t get to the store. Hopefully, like previous years, the odd phone or two will become available before the stated date.

Why didn't you leave the reservation/order and phone the store to say you'll collect Saturday?!

Yeah I've got a sentence that says they'll wanna see ID? Not sure if they will or not but I think maybe that'll take the place of things being signed for.. What with the current climate I know other stuff I've ordered that says it needs signing for I haven't signed a thing. Doubt it'll be through the letterbox too haha, I think because of it's expense they've gotta hand it over and see someone receive it!

Hello All!

Been a long time since I visited. I gave in to temptation for the iPhone 12, Upgrading from a damaged screen Huawei P30 Pro. Don't get me wrong I loved the Huawei phone but with the situation with Huawei with Google, US and the UK getting banned etc... I've lost some confidence in buying another Huawei phone given theres no Google access now so no android apps theres no real point getting a "P50 Pro".

I had 5 months or so remaining on an EE contract which I paid an early upgrade fee of £180, (would of cost £250 for a screen replacement for the Huawei.) Then I went to negotiate a deal with EE via chat claiming they were too expensive vs Vodafone/Three. In the end I got iPhone 12, Red, 128GB, £30 upfront with £60 a month with 40GB data a month with a choice 1 smart benefit included, after a bit of thinking time I decided to sign the deal since it was the best they could do really. Tried to push for cheaper but didn't work but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Not sure that's good for an early upgrade so did I do the right thing in the end?

...Also interesting that currys is dispatching from Hinkley and using DPD, suspect currys is just using Apples stock for initial pre-orders.

I wouldn’t count on it. I left them 2 years ago and went to Voda (tho I still had a data only sim with EE). My PAC even expired and then I requested a second before switching - didn’t care, no call back, no offers.

I only went back for esim and visual voicemail but now Voda have these so I may get a cash back deal off mobiles.co.uk for them instead if they keep refusing to give me anything again.

Also considering waiting to see what Black Friday throws up for both carriers

My in-store collection tomorrow is a slot for 09:45-10:00 but I think I will get there for around 9am as there is no way to gage if there will be queues or not.

And, that previous message in the Apple Store app about your phone ONLY being available during your slot has now disappeared.....

No you can’t. The free years Apple TV+ only applies if you haven’t received the years free Apple TV+ trial previously.

In that case, a Smart plan for me is useless as I’ve already previously used EE’s 6 month free Apple Music offer + I already have BT Sport on my Virgin Media TV and Apple’s Arcade service is pants in my opinion as is Apple TV (already have all the Smart Apps on the tv anyway!)!
