Ive never had one from them, just a countdown which seemed rather accurate
They gave me an hour in which it’ll be delivered and then a call to let me know they’re 10 minutes away.
Good question. I suspect that under current circumstances that Apple will not want people just turning up to queue at their stores. I think that they have been operating a booking system just to browse. But on the other hand, I'm sure that Apple would not want to be turning customers away.
Our local one says “We’re currently open for pickup of online orders, Genius Support by making an appointment, and shopping by reserving a one-to-one session with a Specialist. We look forward to resuming full operations as soon as it’s safe to do so.” so I’m guessing no random walk-in purchasing.
My Amazon order has always said it was going to be delivered Monday while everyone else's was saying saturday so i decided to have a play around. Changed delivery address from work to home, delivery date still monday. Changed delivery speed from prime to standard, delivery date still monday. Changed delivery speed from standard to prime, delivery date changed to Saturday. Hacking the system guys!!!

...if they’re going to be giving people a ticket and telling them to come back later (even if they have pre-ordered) due to massive queues, I won’t be hanging around and may have to just order one online and wait for delivery (even if it’s November).

I considered iUP but I've never used AppleCare so it's money wasted.
If I had planned this year better, I'd have got a 0% offer on a credit card for 24 months and used that to pay for the phone.

Also some information I read earlier, not sure if you guys have discussed it or not, when the new phones are on 5G, you will not need to connect to wifi to download software updates which is good.
Update for the ao order if anyone is interested. So yes, dpd shows 4 tracking numbers but only one is moving to my local depot so I presume the others are void and just a technical glitch. All in all, good news
