So I've seen a lot of you using ReBuy for selling your phones - current price is £655 but the eBay market seems to be around £800 (iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB).. decisions!

I've sold iPhones & iPads on eBay before with no issues!

Any help appreciated!
Just take into account the fees that you will pay to eBay and PayPal.

selling on eBay at £800 is gonna cost not far off £100 in fees so not a big hit to take over ReBuy

I have just spotted that ESR have full coverage (ie. closed bottom) leather cases for sale on their website.
It’s a shame they are not available on Amazon yet as their own delivery seems to take quite a while.
There is also a MagSafe compatible car charging mount, albeit limited to 7.5W charging.

Also factor in all the power on ebay has now shifted to the buyer. Even if you explicitly say "no returns" in the listing description, this is meaningless and both ebay and PayPal will side with the buyer, who only has to say "item not as described" or similar.

ebay is still a great place to buy and sell niche items, but anything desirable and mainstream just isn't worth the hassle with all the potential scammers etc.

I usually wait for the £1 final value fee weekends, although still have to think about PayPal costs.. Anyone know how much they take?

Thank you for the replies!
PayPal is ~3%. If you get a £1 FVF offer, selling on eBay is by far your best bet.

I’ve sold many iPhones and iPads on eBay without issue. I set it so people with 0 feedback can’t bid and never had an issue.

There’s calculators out there to give you an idea. But if you sell a phone for £800 you’d pay about £23.50 in fees just for PayPal and eBay will be separate to that.

I have used eBay a lot in the past however there are so many trolls on there and returns etc it’s so annoying so I have opted for reBuy this time as I locked in a very healthy price before the 12’s were announced. I have used musicmagpie in the past too and they were great. It really depends on how much money you need to gain out of it. For my I simply need enough to pay off that phone loan and be done with it.

Good morning,

Question for Pacific Blue owners - has anyone found a transparent case that doesn’t make it too ugly? I’m trying this one and the phone looks more Blue Gray than anything - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08DKMPX9N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Search for the Totallee clear cases on Amazon UK. Not cheap at £30, but definitely the thinnest clear cases out there with only Peel clear cases on equivalent footing (Peel needs to be shipped from the US, though).

I ended up picking up a 12 pro last night after deciding to wait for the mini. I cancelled my original silver pro order as delivery slipped to November with Apple.

My 8 plus is easier to use one handed than the 12 pro and doesn’t feel much different in weight.

The 12 pro with slippy Apple silicone case, square edges and tall screen means I will return once the mini is out unfortunately.

I did manage to get applecare for £7.99 a month.

The service at Leeds Apple store last night was brilliant.

Hi.

Can I add AppleCare+ to my new iPhone 12 Pro if I don't have it to hand?
It was delivered on Friday back home, and a work colleague is bringing it over to Norway for me next week.

I'd like to add AppleCare+ before this if possible?

I have IMEI / serial numbers for the device...

Thanks.

EDIT ** I've tried inputting the serial number that's on the iPhone 12 Pro invoice into Apple.com and it just keeps saying "we're sorry", please choose another device to cover?
Is that because I haven't activated the device yet?

They look pretty good. Might get one for my max when they are out.

I’ve given up selling on eBay for exactly this reason. It just isn’t worth it anymore, too many out there want to con people out of money.
At the end of last year I essentially paid for delivery of some fairly high priced items to people and they kept the item for free!
eBay is just a haven for people pulling these stunts and you can’t even leave a buyer negative feedback to warn other sellers about their tactics.
