If it stops working, unless you have protect plus which off course will be additional

That's concerning although the consensus seems to be that it's a software issue. Fingers crossed it's a simple fix from Apple via software update.

That sounds like it’s only a few devices so should be a fix via software updates. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Never had an issue with BT myself but I’ve always been on FTTP with them before that 16mb connection with talk talk which was really bad.. full fibre 900 that’s the one £55 a steal. happy with it but it’s gonna go up in March which is annoying with the CPI and 3.9%
Vodafone gigafast is the same price per month (a bit less if you have a pay monthly sim/phone too) but the first 6 months are free. Not available everywhere, but they are rolling out over Openreach now as well as cityfibre.

I kind of felt this way last year about my green 11 Pro when hubby got the silver 11 Pro a few weeks later. Actually still got regrets which is why am contemplating the gold max.
I got the pacific blue pro this year and just took it back yesterday, it’s lovely in certain lights but indoors it’s just grey looking and during this pandemic it’ll be indoors mostly anyway.

the silver and gold models look so much more premium and clean looking.

got both on order and will keep whatever arrives first.

Just sent the forum post about the inability to focus to the macforum editors. It seems like a major problem to me.

I wonder if every phone has it then? Mines coming tomorrow :-(
This is about 10cm away from my steering wheel

In the apple upgrade programme which is 20 months, part of the monthly payment is apple care. If you upgrade after 11 months and hand your phone back in you effectively start again. But if you sell your phone and settle the upgrade programme you get the unused months of apple care back. I have done this and will get £100 back. Do you pay for the 2 year apple care in the first few payments of the contract? I'm unclear why you get an apple care refund.

So why would anyone just hand their phones back in after 11 months and lose the apple care refund?

You’ve paid Apple (via your Barclays loan) for the phone and Apple care up front. Your loan is with Barclays not Apple. So when you sell your phone privately and cancel Apple care you are entitled to a refund out the outstanding unused portion.

Not been on for the last few days. How’s everyone finding their phones!?

Cheeky from Apple that you need the new 20w plug to get the full 15w MagSafe charge! Even with a MacBook Pro charger they couldn’t get more than 10w!

how quick did the iphone 12 pro go out of stock on release time for us? will it be any slower going through Iphone upgrade program for first time reserving?

As long as you get into the Apple store and reserve a phone for in store pick up you can go in and say you want it on IUP if that’s what you’re after.

If you want the 24 month 0% I’m sure Apple will give an advance option like they did for the pro in the week prior to do the finance online and then you just complete your order via the Apple store app and do delivery or pick up in store

I’ve also found this link the best way to reserve for IUP

There is if you go through the Compare website

When I go through this link I don’t see any re-buy option at all for 256GB? Am I missing something??

update - I see it now..... but only £541??

so for those who still umm and are over IUP and handing the phone back in compared to selling privately and paying off the loan yourself, here are my numbers for this year.

iPhone 11 Pro 256

by the time I came to paying off my balance I had my 13 payments so had a balance of £465.15 remaining to settle my loan.

sold phone to music magpie for £640 and also cancelled AppleCare and got £91 back

so by not just handing my phone back to apple* I was £265.85 better off.

* there have been a few comments which said some apple sales folk have told people in store not to hand phone back in but 'trade-in' with them so get similar (though apple won't give the best price compared to others).

TBH, if you have a problem you can go to the Apple Store as well as John Lewis.

Apple are very good doing out of warranty replacements on faulty devices by consumer laws
I've had that before with my iPad and dodgy screen. They sorted it out.

If you buy something from John Lewis. You an also take it to the Apple Store to sort out.

only in the first year. second year they do everything through the retailer. i know this first hand from my ipad pro. they will help you in the first year (apple store) but after that you need to go direct to John Lewis and they send it off to authorised repairers.

Apple Store did it for me during the 2nd year for a previous iPad. I've not tried it with my iPad Pro though as not had any issues. I guess it depends who you get in-store.

I always try to buy from John Lewis first anyway.
