I sent reBuy my XS Max which like new was £407, very good was £290. I said that it was like new. There were a few scratches on the screen as I hadn’t used protection and they reduced my offer to £380 because of scratches. This was still better than Music Magpie whose top offer was £366.
Worse case scenario you decline offer and they return it.
I’ve just looked on compareandrecycle.co.uk about trading my 8 Plus in and it’s lost £40 in value in just a week. The top price is £237. I’ll now sell through Facebook marketplace as i’ll get £270 easily if not more and it’s less hassle than have to go to the post office.

These comparison sites just rely on you taking their offers once they have your phone which seems like a bit of a con to me. The expectation that a used phone won’t have any marks on it is a bit ridiculous IMO.

whats everyones views on battery life for the pro ?

i took it off charge at around 5 or 6pm yesterday and its now at 87% didn't use it much though yesterday will see how long it lasts today if i leave it to get to 10% that won't damage the battery health will it ?

i'm sure i read somewhere that you shouldn't let battery go too low and that it damages the health over time ? i tend to charge mine as soon as it hits 30% ish.

Not sure on the current models but Apple has iOS refined pretty well to manage the battery health these days

Ie charge slows down once it hits 80% so it trickle charges until 100%

There is a lot of rumour, but in practise you will only find noticeably increased battery wearing from heat. It’s finding out what causes the increased heat if you’re concerned about that, but I’m talking about extreme heat not the hot temps we expect from charging.

But that said, charging it less would not hurt! I would discourage charging it constantly / too often for the sake of it.

This is spot on. I race RC cars and through summer the batteries will be killed off and rendered unusable so fast it’s crazy. Over winter they last so much longer. I can get a full winter season from one set of batteries but during summer this is raised to 2-3 sets.
Yes a lot of this is due to the strain they are under with really fast discharge cycles, I can run one battery down to its 20% cutoff in around 30mins. But the heat generated by that cannot dissipate during the summer season, which would match up with the comments about heat being the biggest issue they have to contend.

How do you guys think Apple will deal with iUP people if we go into a second lockdown? 🤔
They probably won’t. Knowing Apple, I suspect they’ll just keep it quiet / grey it out / show no available slots as the stores are closed. And we’re just left to deal with it.

Vodafone for me won't go below £24pm for unlimited 5G max.
I've been with them for 6 years.
I think it's time to move on.
My dad had been with Vodafone for 24 years before he left last year and they wouldn't offer him any decent/cheap deals for new devices he enquired about an iPhone 7 and the best they could offer was £22 per month whereas he had offers from both Sky & Virgin for closer to £10 but they wouldn't budge and basically said he'd be best to go elsewhere. so much for loyalty

They will ignore them - they won't really have a choice as stores will probably close. Second lockdown IMO is imminent. The current situation warrants it unfortunately.

If they don’t deem it as ‘like new’ but it is still very good I think they’ll make you an offer in between the two prices quoted. I was offered £27 less because my screen was scratched.
I’ve decided to give ReBuy a go. If they don’t agree that it’s “Like New” I’ll hopefully get it back in time to sell it to Music Magpie for the £320 that I have locked in for the next fortnight.

The 12 pro with official silicon case certainly attracts the dust. Because of the lip on the case the dust sticks all around where the lip is.

The silicone cases have always been the same since the 6. Dust and fluff magnets!

It’s not really the case doing it though. The screen seems very staticky which attracts the dust and then it gets pushed to the sides when I clean it. Then stays there where the lip is.

I’d rather set the phone on fire than use Facebook marketplace

Presumably they just return it if you don't like their offer?

FB marketplace can be great but there are an incredible amount of timewasters which is highly frustrating. Sold a load of old electrical items recently and, whilst I managed to get rid of all of it, the number of timewasters was irritating. Not only that, but random idiots who now have my address. Don't think I'd want the hassle of the timewasters when selling something like a phone and would rather take 10-15% less for an easy transaction with apple/MM/rebuy etc.
