So, a week on, how is everyone finding their new iPhones?
Mainly I just reach into my pocket. 😂 Thanks, thanks, I'm here all week.

Seriously though, I'm pretty happy with it: battery life has been fine for me and comparable to my 11 pro, screen quality is great, reception is at least as good as my 11 pro, design is great. Only issue is the close-up AF problem with the camera I mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm pretty sure that's software though from my testing so I reckon it'll likely get fixed with an update. Otherwise camera is great, incremental update from the 11 to be fair but in difficult shooting situations it seems better and having deep fusion / night mode on more lenses is great.

Loving it but due to COVID and the avoidance of going out, I don’t feel like I’ve had much ‘real world’ usage.
That and the damn awful weather is a downer for sure. Hoping to get a couple of walks in this weekend and do some more photography with mine.

i'm used to the pro max version so its taking some getting used to i like that it fits in my hand much easily no stretching to reach buttons or screen and it can be used one handed but i'm missing the real estate.

i'm definately keeping it until next year when hopefully they upgrade the refresh rate. I think the pro max is slightly too big and pro is perhaps too small will see how it goes so a 6.5inch version would be just right for me.

I'm also finding the battery life really good

Really enjoying mine. Went from an XR to a normal 12, also changed networks from Three to EE.

Love the feel of the square sides and feels so much nicer in hand, the screen is beautiful too.

Didn’t realise how bad three’s network was compared to EE, getting 3x the download speed around my home and town even though I was getting full signal with three. So that in itself has added that extra bit to the whole experience.

Got some of the ESR screen protectors coming today so will try one, but normally go classless and without a screen protector anyway!

So having come from an iPhone 8 Plus my fear was moving a smaller phone and getting used to Face ID and no home button etc. I was very lucky to get out of the house on Monday and went for a trip to Alton Towers and some of the photos I got during their scarefest event I was so impressed! Absolutely love the phone and glad I made the move not missing anything about my old phone other than Touch ID when in shops for Apple Pay

Compared to my old XR, the battery is better, the screen is amazing, the camera is ridiculously good and I’ve not seen any sign of the focussing issue that some have.
The mobile data connection has also been much more reliable and faster, I didn’t even change network so it could be just the difference in modem between the two models.

I missed the good spot on my Qi charger last night and the battery ran flat so I missed my alarm. When I went into the battery settings Gmail had been using 24% of the battery in background mode. Anyone finding this an issue with Gmail on their Pro?

Can you remind me which MagSafe accessories you’ve got? What’s the problem?
just the charger and the silicone case. it may be that the iphone magsafe ecosystem is not ready yet, it is quite an investment for not much additional value other that slightly faster charging (slower than cable though).

Hopefully, we'll soon see car chargers/holders, third party compatible charges etc. that will make the use more attractive.

My 9th of November delivery has shipped and will be here Monday!

I've got 11th November delivery (cancelled my launch date 12 to go for a Pro), So seeing people with 9th Nov delivery having theirs shipped is making me hopeful mine might ship mid next week!

I assume you’re using the official Apple 20w USBC charging plug (or a compatible USBC PD3 charger)?

Undoubtedly it’s quite an investment particularly if you find that the benefits are marginal.

I think a lot of people will be using this set up on their bedside tables so the advantage is questionable. As another poster observed, if you charge whilst you sleep it doesn’t make any practical difference if your phone takes 2 hours rather than 4 to get to full charge.

Coming from a launch day iPhone 8 I've had for 3 years the 12 is a revelation basically. Fiancee had an XR recently so knew the size would be much better but even over that the flat sides and perfectly flat screen is much better again.

Literally everything seems 10 years newer tech to me, not just 3 years from the 8. So yeah, loving it.

Yes, I’m looking forward to this.

With my recently retired 11 Pro Max I used a Pitaka magnetic case in combination with a wireless charging pad (air vent mounted) in the car. The convenience of just placing my phone on the pad was excellent. Expensive combination but very good.

Talk of cloud storage makes me think I need to consolidate mine. I currently pay for both family Apple iCloud, Google Drive plus 5 small/free DropBox accounts then SSD external drives. For cloud, reckon it's better to go with only one large 2tb primary iCloud account and the drives for storage management.

Hoping us Pro Max buyers will also get the 1 year free Apple TV+. So paying for all Apple One services right now doesn't make financial sense until free TV & music trials etc. are all over.

Great to read people are enjoying the 12 Pro! My missus loves her Pacific blue. The new design in itself is a marked step forward from the 11. I've noticed an improvement in low-light photography and especially night sky scenes.

Roll on for Max pre-orders next week!

I don't like to put all my stuff in one place. Even cloud with all the protection could fail in someway like Ransomware or accidental deletion. Microsoft Family can be had for around £40 a year and this includes 6 accounts with 1TB each.
