It’s beautifully made and is a pleasure to use but I’m going to have to send it back and order the 12 Pro Max as I miss the larger screen of my 11 Pro Max. I had hoped that the new 6.1” screen would be the perfect size but, for me, it isn’t unfortunately.

I didn’t even bother considering the Pro or other models. I have a 11 Pro Max right now and I’m going to replace it with a 12 Pro Max. I know it’s slightly bigger but I’m hoping that won’t be a problem.

I don't like to put all my stuff in one place. Even cloud with all the protection could fail in someway like Ransomware or accidental deletion. Microsoft Family can be had for around £40 a year and this includes 6 accounts with 1TB each.

Thanks, I'll take a look at Microsoft Family, that would definitely work for me. Protection is the one reason I've personally had so many cloud accounts. That coupled with not 100% full trust in the cloud as a storage solution which is why I have the SSD's too.

Going off piste, where the keys to the cloud data encryption key is held does vary from cloud storage services. Cloud cyber attacks are on the rise - I was reading the volume of attacks on cloud services more than doubled in 2019 and accounted for 20% of investigated incidents. Corporate and internal networks remain the most targeted domains, representing 54% of incidents, cloud environments are now the third most targeted environment for cyber attacks & continually increasing.

Geeky tech facts for the day!

For me, bigger is better. I made a mistake thinking that the 12 Pro would suit me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a brilliant phone but I prefer the bigger screen of the Max together with the other advantages such as camera enhancements and a better battery life.

Same here. For me also bigger is better especially as I use my phone a lot during work to access various things online. I can’t use my work PC for personal use so the bigger phone display helps a lot. I’ve got use to carrying around a large phone now.

Definitely not a fan of this guy's presenting skills but he's done a decent 1 week review of the 12 Pro:

Interesting info about use of Smart Data Mode to help save battery life & the new Qualcomm X55 modem used with impact on 5G/4G speeds.

Excellent news! What was the timescale from you sending it off. Were you confident that they’d accept it “as new”?
I had it collected on Wednesday afternoon and they received it yesterday afternoon and it was in the evening they asked for proof of purchase. I was 100% confident that it would appear as new to them as it’s lived in a case and had a screen protector since I got it on launch day. Only thing was that the battery is showing as 96% but still got the quoted figure of £557 for iPhone 11 Pro 64gb.

So EE have been offline in my postcode for the second time this week. This time today the status page showed the ‘upgrading my network’ so was hoping it would come back with 5G.. but alas not meant to be!

Though the 4G is pretty nippy indoors

Im actually still in disbelief that amazon actually honored these orders. £150 saving, well happy with that. Amazon has a new fan.
Was in disbelief until it arrived last Saturday. In addition, picked up a 12 Pro 128gb at Apple White City the same day. So, my 'Amazon' 12 Pro 128gb sits unopened waiting to become a Xmas pressie...

my blue apple silicone turned up today. It fits so nicely but really not sure if I can handle the dust pick up on it yet. will give it a day or two to see if ti settles down, maybe the initial dust magnet stickyness wears off a bit? On a positive note, I had a black silicone for my XS max and the blue one for the 12 pro shows fingerprints and smudges far far less. the jury is still out for now

Well, at least you’ve got 14 days to return it if you decide you don’t like it.
