They do seem to have been removed from Amazon.
 
Just got my iPhone 12 black and it has some weird white marks around cameras under the camera unit glass. I cleaned the phone to make sure it is not just an external marks. I hope apple will replace it.

Morning everyone, anyone else having micro scratch troubles on the pro?

Due to this coating business I don’t want to polish it out and risk making it look crap but I’m somehow picking up scratches each time I take it out the case to clean it...

I’ve cleaned the inside of the case with a microfibre cloth in hope of catching any nasty stuff in there but am really confused as it’s gone straight in the case and been left there after I took a few photos...

I've seen a few people on Reddit with the same issue, pretty sure they were all black models as well.

I haven’t noticed any issues on the graphite.
However, I have noticed that the silver stainless Apple Watch is more susceptible to micro scratches due to the lack of PVD coating. The silver Pro is also said to have no PVD coating, so you shouldn’t have a problem polishing it.

I've ordered the 12 Pro in Blue which should arrive on Friday.
In the meantime I've dug out my old 6s and have been reaquainting myself with the world of IOS. I've been following this discussion and have ordered and received screen protectors from LK, a Ringke Onyx case from a helpful link from another poster on this forum and also a Wallet case from Ocase. ( I know it covers the screen but I've got used to having my Bank cards and travel pass in the C/Card slots )

The LK screen protectors came with a protector for the camera lens but my instincts tell me that fitting one might degrade the optics as it's an extra reflective surface in front of the lens.
I ordered ( and cancelled ) the Apple magnetic charger as I wasn't sure if the charger would stay attached when the phone is taken off charge. ( I have a nice wood effect platform wireless charging stand that I used on my S7, it was easy just to plonk it on the stand and let it charge when at my computer desk )

Current plan is with Plusnet Mobile, 4 Gig for £7 per month on a rolling one month contract. No 5G yet where I live.
Really looking forward to Friday and hope the swap over from my View 20 is as painless as possible.

Thought that I'd post an update with my experience so far.
I've spent a week with the 12 Pro, very impressed with it, my existing Wireless charger from my Samsung S7 works fine, It's on the bedside table so it's just a matter of plonking it on the charger with no plugging / unplugging cables to worry about and let it charge while I sleep. Battery life is better than I had expected, I've been getting used to the phone and playing about with it a lot, exploring all the features etc and I'm still seeing 50-60% left at the end of the day.

Having said all that I'm sending it back to Apple and will get a 12 non pro. I love the Pacific Blue colour but as I keep it in a case that is moot. As I understand it the only differences are the extra 2GB of ram and the telephoto lens + Lidar sensor.
With the money saved I'll put that towards a 12 Mini for my wife.

That really doesn’t sound great.

Looks good and is great value but isn’t that the hard case that a poster was saying attracted scratches and didn’t have raised edges? I may be wrong.

How are peoples experiences with Rebuy? I have a price of £677 locked in for my 256GB 11 Pro Max. The guide notes say that they mail out a trade in pack to me within 24 hours. But the guide notes also seem to say that I will get a text from DPD with a one hour pick up slot and that the DPD driver will package the phone in front of me and provide me with a return tracking number. I don't seem to have a pick up date as yet from DPD so I assume that DPD wont be scheduled until my trade in pack arrives?

I’m using ReBuy at the moment and many people here have had positive experiences.

I completed the online process on Thursday evening and I was told that the phone would be collected the next day. I was given a one hour DPD slot the next day and the driver turned up on time, packaged the phone and took it away.

No one knows yet. With the 12/12 Pro the pre-approvals went live on the Wednesday (day after Apple announcement event) with actual pre-orders on the Friday.

If the exact same timetable is followed then Mini/Max pre-approvals would start from Wednesday this week. I have a suspicion it may be earlier (as no event to hold off for) but until the app lets you start the process - no one will know!!

I’ve heard of this, but different people are providing “evidence” for it or to the contrary and will really need to wait and see what Apple say... really don’t want to run with someone’s opinion of the smell (I’ve seen the thread referenced) and feel like I’ve ruined the phone!

Yeah it isn’t! I was tempted to try on a small one but the opportunity cost of putting up with scratches to not have a phone that’s balding at 1 month old is acceptable to me right now 😫 Hopefully more will come out on people’s experiences but on this occasion I don’t want to be the tester!
