I’m using ReBuy at the moment and many people here have had positive experiences.

I completed the online process on Thursday evening and I was told that the phone would be collected the next day. I was given a one hour DPD slot the next day and the driver turned up on time, packaged the phone and took it away.
Ah thats great. Thanks very much. I had a confirmation email from Rebuy but I haven't been given a pick up date yet. Did you get an email? I completed on the process on Saturday so I had better get a move on and get my phone ready.

So... lockdown. Where does this leave those of us in IUP land and need to go in person to upgrade?
Unless Apple come up with an alternative way to complete the process then you might be waiting until December. At the moment you have to do it in store and stores will shut on Wednesday evening until early December.

I’ve heard of this, but different people are providing “evidence” for it or to the contrary and will really need to wait and see what Apple say... really don’t want to run with someone’s opinion of the smell (I’ve seen the thread referenced) and feel like I’ve ruined the phone!

Yeah it isn’t! I was tempted to try on a small one but the opportunity cost of putting up with scratches to not have a phone that’s balding at 1 month old is acceptable to me right now 😫 Hopefully more will come out on people’s experiences but on this occasion I don’t want to be the tester!
I can totally understand you not wanting to test the theory until someone can confirm.
I would be tempted myself to send a few messages to agents on Apple’s chat support and see if there is a consensus on the subject, or if they have some concrete knowledge of the steel coatings.

Then again, who am I kidding. I’d be the idiot who polished it anyway and found out for myself. I’m a sucker for testing theories and wanting to know how things work 😂

Yeah i think that its too short notice for Apple to do anything in just 5 days. There would be a lot of back office changes required for a short 4 week pieriod so i think they might wait it out for 4 weeks to see if the stories can be reopened.

As has been said earlier in the thread, it’s more likely the issue is with Barclays than with Apple.
Apple has the facility to do mail-in IUP in the US, as such I’d imagine the backend stuff is already there from their side. Banks here are notoriously stuck in the past with the way they work and that seems like a bigger sticking point.

How are peoples experiences with Rebuy? I have a price of £677 locked in for my 256GB 11 Pro Max. The guide notes say that they mail out a trade in pack to me within 24 hours. But the guide notes also seem to say that I will get a text from DPD with a one hour pick up slot and that the DPD driver will package the phone in front of me and provide me with a return tracking number. I don't seem to have a pick up date as yet from DPD so I assume that DPD wont be scheduled until my trade in pack arrives?

Great price really...makes me wonder how great it was before the phones were announced

Either pay it off, buy online or don’t upgrade sadly.

Aye it’s looking more and more likely.

The bigger issue I have is that I will only upgrade to 12 Pro Max if the camera is substantially better (on 11 Pro Max), so ideally I want to see the reviews.

Maybe one way is to just place a full-fat pay upfront order on Friday, wait for reviews to drop on Tuesday, then maybe can cancel in time?

In the meantime pay off Apple IUP regardless and start trade in process with Apple.

Just in case you miss out, buy a copy of this first:

I needed to think some more so didn't order my 12 Pro until later on 16/10/2020. Result being delivery this coming Monday. So I know what it is like... :)
Annoying weekend - we get tracking in Syncreon - and on DHL.

Syncreon shows it arriving at nearest depot twice. On Saturday morning and again, very early this morning (Monday). No - didn't leave the depot, just arrived twice.

DHL eventually showed it out for delivery. And even more eventually will arrive lunchtime.

From my point of view, it looked as if they could have managed delivery on Friday. Failing that, a Saturday delivery doesn't seem exceptionally far-fetched for an expensive device.

Do they do Saturday deliveries? I wasn't sure if they did or not.

Looks good and is great value but isn’t that the hard case that a poster was saying attracted scratches and didn’t have raised edges? I may be wrong.

I’ve had that case on my 11 Pro Max for a year now with no scratches. And the back is raised so the lens don’t touch the surface. Unless they have changed the iPhone 12 versions I don’t see there to be a problem.

Fingers crossed it comes soon for you! The wait is the worst!
I have breathed a bit of sigh of relief. My 6s has been needing to be charged two, three, even four times a day recently. Suddenly, sometime last week, it has been lasting much better. Very odd.

The only change I am sure happened is that the NHS COVID-19 app was updated. But that wasn't using a huge amount, only one or two percent.

Harder waiting just to preorder. Longest 3 weeks ever!!
I managed to be calm until it got to being shipped!

Posting mainly so anyone else can see what might happen to their orders. It is far from the most important thing but it is so easy to get ridiculously obsessed checking. :)

And the original said November 2 to 9 - and am the front end of that.

Does anyone know if Apple have announced how they are going to deal with the Max and Mini launch as stores will be shut and people will be trying to upgrade through iUP

I find it odd that you didn’t get an email confirming that they would arrange DPD pick up. Mine was for the following day but that probably wouldn’t be the case at the weekend. Why don’t you give them a call? Worst case scenario you could go through the online process again today for a DPD pick up tomorrow.

No they won't! That's England.

Wales is re-opening next Monday.

(I have no idea if Cardiff will actually re-open, but the current plan seems to be to allow at least some, possibly all, retail to re-open. Could easily change by then.)
