I’m planning on joining apples upgrade programme for the first time and ordering tomorrow. Not sure now though if that will be impacted by the news that iUP temp unavailable in UK... is that just going to impact existing customers looking to upgrade or new customers too? I was hoping Apple would deliver my new phone to my home and I send back the trade in phone afterwards with one of their ‘pack and send’ boxes... confused now!
In the UK, the IUP is in-store only. You won't be able to do it until January. They do the credit check live in store, etc.

Affects new and existing members of the programme I am afraid to say

they should really consider using the iphone payments plan with barclays, and merging this with iUP

See above IUP is a convenience but you pay for it.

iPhone payments and sell phone after 11 - 12 months make a bit of cash by selling phone either private or ReBuy, Music Magpie etc and basically start again after paying Barclays off

After speaking to Apple customer services seems I can’t return the pro to a retail store after all because you don’t get the extra 14 days if bought and your returning back to store
That’s interesting. So it’s better all round to buy via an online order.

I’ve initiated my return and I’ve got until the 19th November to return it. However if I click through to UPS to book a collection it only allows a booking in the next 5 working days.

I’ll wait until next week to book the collection then I can get it collected after I (hopefully) get the Pro Max.

Any users having joy cleaning the inside of the cases? After obsessing over the stainless frame it’s soul destroying that putting it back in the case immediately coats it again with fingerprints 😫

Can’t even see them until the phone is on it!

I have a pre-approval for gold at the moment, is it possible to change the colour during the preorder process tomorrow? Or change the colour of pre-approved phone now?

Colours can be changed tomorrow

Sizes (capacities)/models can't be changed without a new approval

if you go into the app you can change the colour when you go onto your approval

Even though I have pre-approval for the scheme with Barclays? Seems odd!
You do not have pre-approval for the iUP. You have pre-approval for the iPhone Payments plan. That’s still going ahead but there is no upgrade mechanism for that plan.

Still can't decide between the Graphite and the Blue.

Been set on the Graphite but now having last minute doubts!

I’ve decided I’m going to order and pay in full.

Apart from saving to favourites, is there anything else that I should do so that I can get the order done ASAP? No messing with pre-order correct?

One more thing - I am doing the Apple trade in for my Pro Max 11. Anyone know how long I’ll have to send it to them? Ideally want to try the Pro 12 Max, compare, and see if it’s worth it.

Has anyone done the manual trade in with Apple before, i have a 8+ in perfect condition - few on facebook for £200+ but apple offering £170. is the trade in process easy? Im tempted to just cut my losses and go direct purely as its quicker.

14 days (well, 14 days before the price might change).

Yes, they send you a kit with packaging and a return label in the post and you just take the packaged phone to the post office.

I felt safer with any fiddling of the phone deleted data. May be I am over thinking what may not happen.
For online trade-in, they will send the trade-in kit.

Now IUP is cancelled Apple may as well not do click and collect so there is more stock available for delivery.

Click and collect suits those who prefer in store pickup. I personally will get it delivered.

my last pre-order of the XS Max was for store collection - when you order for delivery, do they give you the date and you have to hope it doesn't slip? Or will you see if you've missed out straight away?
