Silly question but I assume your physical sim will continue working till you activate the eSim?

Any idea what happens when you swap phones later on can you just swap it to a new device?

At the moment no you can’t - not on EE. You have to order another replacement esim using the option below. I used the second option when swapping initially from physical to eSIM. I think the second and third probably do the same.

regarding an esim can you get one purely so you dont have to stick a pin in the side of the phone and swap from a physical sim or do you need a reason to swap thanks ?

It’s very very hard and nearly impossible over the phone.
On live chat I managed to get them to offer it and then recorded the chat and emailed it to the advisor I spoke to on the phone. The advisor on the phone said they can’t add discounts to an annual upgrade but once I emailed her the chat she spoke to her manager and they said they will manually deduct £10 off my bill each month.

on live chat you need to be really nice to them and say you will give them good feedback, then say “please can you give me a loyalty discount” they might say no but keep trying and if they insist no then say “I spoke to someone yesterday and they offered me a 10% loyalty discount so please speak to your manager and check this again” - both times I’ve been on live chat I’ve successfully had this 10% offered, you just need to keep insisting.
nice, thanks for the reply. will give it a go

My reason is I have my work O2 Sim in my phone as well.
When on holiday or weekends I turn that line off!!

Yep O2 requires a new sim for some reason for 5G.
I changed my plan today with O2. Currently on an eSim 4G with the XS Max. Swapping to a 5G SIM only plan. They've arranged to send me a 5G eSim so I can activate it on the 12 Pro Max when it arrives on Friday. They assured me the current one will keep working until I activate the new one on the new phone on Friday.

I'm going down this route. One reason is so the non-Max fits in my cars wireless charging bay with ease, the Max does not! I don't think I'll miss the Max as much as I think I will at this stage.
What sort of car do you have? I have a Mercedes on order and i have a horrible feeling that the the wireless charging bay will be too small for a 12 Pro Max so i might have to return my Pro Max when it arrives on Friday and go for a Pro instead.. The dealer cant tell me for sure as my Merc is a new model ands there are none in the country at the moment.

to all, i am moving from a blackberry to iPhone (must be the last person on the planet to do so), luckily i got the pro max 12 as soon as it went live, my question is do I need to get another sim for the iPhone 12 pro max? or will my current nano sim still work? I'm on 02 and not interested in 5G yet as the network is still patchy! just want to know if my current sim will work!

Really, that’s shocking.
It should be as simple as a call to head office and get the dimensions. If Mercedes don’t have a set of measurements available for something like that, then they should at least they know which phone they designed the system for in the first place.

Your nano sim will be fine. It depends on whether your sim is optimised for 5G

Your SIM will work fine on 4G, you may need another for 5G. My O2 SIM wasn’t even a year old and had to be switched for a 5G capable one.

i need to stop reading this thread, my wallet is not safe. that California Poppy and Pacific Blue looks amazing.
This thread is dangerous 😂 I’m tempted to get a leather case even though I do prefer silicone and I have a case already with one on the way 😂

Wish Apple had more updates. Like “we’ve received your order” to “preparing to ship” to “blokes gone to get your new iPhone” to “he’s now putting it in the box” to “young lad’s taking it to the post office” to “you’re item has been shipped” to “it’s on the way” to “It’s coming tomorrow” to “your new iPhone will be delivered at 9am”.

Yes, Apple, that’d be cool!

ive never really spent much on apple accessories always thought the cases and bands were so expensive. only ever bought the ultraviolet band for my applewatch which if they brought out another ultraviolet case for the 12 i would actually buy that in a heartbeat. but that yellow.. damn thats nice. Not overly sold on magsafe yet though

Apple already does a better job than some of us got.
O2 sent me confirmation emails for my Pro order straight away and then nothing. The next thing I heard from them was a text mid afternoon 15 mins before the driver turned up, telling me DPD would deliver today.
Luckily I had the DPD app and that informed me of what was happening the night before.
