It's a shame I can't change my ready to pre-order to the Sierra Blue now... if I try get the Blue without the ready to pre-order I will probably miss out.

When was this change? the only time where I was told perk can’t be used was if you were still in a contract but if your due an upgrade perk discount would still work.understandability won’t work if you want to upgrade after a year
Thats what they told me when i was doing iPhone 12 Pro upgrade last year after 24 month term ended on one of our lines. But you are defo correct that codes not available if you are doing early upgrades.

Annoyingly, here in Ireland, Apple haven't made 'get ready to pre-order' available at all. I tried everything I could to get access to it, even going via the UK website and then changing the URL to see if it gave me access to the same page in IE, no dice.

So I hope I can get one even though I have to go through the full process.

Only NHS or Blue Light works on phone upgrades now. Perks at work only restricted to new contracts.

Edit: Even Blue Light are not giving 20% off to existing customers 😮View attachment 1833653

Very true. I lost my XS to a buyer who used VPN to make payment via Paypal and then clamied he never made that purchase and requested payment recall via his credit card company. Luckily Paypal CS picked up the scent and helped me. Was out of pocket by £700 and an iPhone lol.

Similar incident here!!!

I sold my XS for £700 couple of years ago. Met at the station where I knew there would be CCTV.

Buyer gave me £700 cash, all in £20 notes.
Went to the bank the next day and the deposit machine wouldn't take the notes - I was then told they were all fake notes - the bank were surprised at how good they were!

Contacted the police etc who told me to contact BTP as the deal had been done at the station. Contacte dthem and they didnt get back to me for 3 weeks even after I chased multiple times. In the end it was too late - they had overwritten the footage!

I complained. Because of this they assigned someone to the case.

After tracing the IMEI to a sim that was now in the handset, it turns out the handset was sold on Amazon to someone. Police traced the person, who said they had sent it back to the seller just a few days before - had receipts etc, everything checked out - so just missed it!!
Amazon would not disclose any information on the seller to the police.

To cut a long story short - it took a WHOLE YEAR or waiting and chasing, and tracing the IMEI etc. In the end they found the Amazon seller and had enough evidence to issue a conditional discharge.

Finally got my £700 from him via the courts!!!

I don't want that stress again!

Becuase the pro max came out in November last year I have to pay £100 to do an early upgrade with ee :(

eBay is just to risky these days, far to many scammers want stuff for nothing and throw in a claim and sadly mostly buyer wins. I rather take a dent in funds for the device than take a chance plus bare in mind they can still claim I think for 6 months

Fingers crossed all goes well for everyone today, I kind of predicted/vainly hoped that the 24th would be delivery day and booked it off work a month ago (we're particularly busy at the mo so days of are like gold-dust against deadlines), mostly working from home makes the deliveries easier but there's no way I'd get anything done waiting for not one but two new devices! I'm a wreck following the courier eagerly (online!) when it's just the iPhone but with an iPad Mini also due on Friday I'm going to be watching system transfers and playing with my new toys all day! hopefully, the deliveries are relatively early and not post 5pm ...the partner is already wondering how I have enough to spend on a phone let alone a mini, thankfully hasn't noticed the incremental updates to my Apple Watch, probably still thinks I'm on the first one 😆

Happy pre-order day everyone :)

My case and MagSafe charger arrive today for my new iPhone which hopefully I'll get next week, plus as Apple delayed the release of the new watch I ordered the 6 yesterday from the refurb section and that arrives in an hour or so.

I love September, but my wallet hates it!

I don’t have an eBay notification for £3 selling fees. Is there a way to activate this?
I didn't receive one either but they're always up on HDUK:

Unfortunately that one looks like its expired now though.

I've been using eBay since 2003, during that time I only had 3 rogue buyers, always won in my favour but that was a hassle.

I can see why people get put off selling eBay for sure but, in general (as long you get decent fee rate over a weekend) its the best place to sell tech at the highest prices.

However, it's definitely more straightforward to sell on places like MM - I'm using MM this year with 21 days leverage as I wanted to hang onto my iPhone longer before the sell.

Anyone else ever bought off amazon. Was gonna preorder but it is not very convenient at the moment. May try john lewis too

I'm thinking of changing my colour last minute, from blue to the silver.......
Ive always purchased the silver/white handsets previously - I feel the colours don't look as 'classy' and 'business-like'. Hence may get the white/silver and colour up a case instead, which can be easily changed as and when!!

Hopefully I get to the chance to change the colour without having to go through all the finance stuff again....

I'm afraid you'll have to go through all the finance again. Why not order what you have already set up and then do another order. See what date you get and then you can always cancel the first order?
There's a little message in the app that says if you want to change your colour choice upon placing the order you can do so.
