Which Model are you getting?

I’ll be interested to read the experience people have with Argos trade-in, I’m planning on sending my 12 Pro to them at the end of the week.

They have emailed me my return label and I’ll box the phone myself rather than request a pack. My only concern is my iPhone is only covered for £100 loss or damage.

Highly disappointing if I'm being honest considering I personally will use most if not all the video features on the 13.
If Cinematic Mode stays at 1080p, and it is likely 1920x1080 at 30fps, that is a major feature miss / misleading on the keynote.

These days, films are usually shot at 4K or above, many now in 6K, sometimes 6.5K or 8K is the sweet spot for IMAX etc. For Apple to go into only in at 2K/1080P is poor. Sony's Xperia 1 iii records at 4K 120fps video in the Cinema Pro mode.

If Apple have the software to upgrade to 4K at 60fps in a new version then great but I'm not sure why this is not featured now or coming immediately at release. I know its a niche market but not great news for the 13.

The 120hz adaptive screen is definitely better. Hoping the 13 cameras and battery live up to expectations now too.
 
I used the 'get ready' feature, which last Wednesday charged my card a test fee of £0. nothing since. Order says 'preparing to ship, with an expected launch day delivery.

I used the get ready features as well. I used my physical card as I always have issues with Apple Pay when buying a new iPhone. I got an authorisation code via sms for the full balance. My credit card does not show the balance yet. I have seen it do this in the past with purchases from Apple Store where they pre auth the full balance and hold it on the card. My order went to preparing to ship on Friday night. I’m not to bothered as I have not seen the “there is a problem with your order” message in the app. I’m expecting the payment to show on my credit card app on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Hope it shows up for you in the next day or two.

…..I’m STILL waiting for them to send me the ‘return back to us’ pack!
Mine arrived Saturday 18th, having requested it on the 16th. That said, it's a small jiffy bag just big enough for the phone. I am not sure I'd trust sending it back in that. The postage label is the same size as the envelope.

Exact same as me then. No Apple Pay, just an old school card. Good to know I'm not the only one!

Don’t lose faith yet, especially if the order has moved to preparing to ship. Maybe give Apple a call tomorrow if your banking app doesn’t show anything in the morning. Did you use Apple Pay or your card direct?

At this point we differ. My card is the John Lewis Partnership Card and it’s provided by HSBC. In these circumstances, usually only when I purchase from Apple Store online. It never shows up in my available balance. It’s caused so much stress in the past. This year I’m just going with it. It always turns up unannounced. It’s the one thing I truly hate about this credit card. All other purchases show up correctly. It only ever happens with purchases large or small from Apple.

Can only imagine apple couldn’t get over some significant hurdles at 4K. Storage, battery probably. Hopefully something they’ll address via software

Not sure if you mentioned it but did you say that you had difficulty placing and finalising your order with your John Lewis card? Mine is linked to Apple Pay and it took me ages to complete my order!
 
Hey everyone! so I preordered the 13 pro max Ciara blue 128gb, and it's arriving on Friday! My 12 pro was financed by barclays, so i'm gonna be sending that back and the value of that will pay off part of the new phone which is good! I wonder what the trade in pack will be like that I will get from apple? My phone says preparing to ship which is good!

So I’m now a victim of the Apple Pay issue with Halifax!

however I can’t seem to update my details online. I want to just pay on the card rather than Apple Pay. Any ideas?
Worried if I don’t get it sorted asap I’ll miss out on the collection

It’s a massive logistical challenge not just uk but across the globe and there’s bound to be the odd anomaly.. but come next Friday you’ll have your phone with you.

It’s via bright star and packaging for when I traded in my Mac was pretty good. None of this Argos Jiffy bag none sense

Give them a call tomorrow and it will get sorted. Apple will be getting all the MI and seeing trends with certain cards/methods of payments. Sure it will all be back on track after a chat with them.

You can't change online unfortunately, you'll need to ring them. 0800 048 0408 - they're back open at 8am
