Which Model are you getting?

Is it bad if I collect a phone on Friday knowing that I’m going to return it in 2 weeks and buy another using another method of payment?

I’ve been using an old iPhone with 16Gb memory for the past and can’t wait for another few weeks

It's been a controversial topic on this thread in past years.
The return policy allows you to do it, you're not doing anything wrong, so do whatever you feel like doing.
Apple is one of the biggest companies in the world, I don't think they'll be too hurt by you returning the phone...

It’s not Apple it’s more the people still waiting for a phone themselves who could of had that unit.
@H-B0mb are you just planning to buy the same one in a few weeks but just a different payment method? If you're picking up the phone you want on Friday, then just ask them to do the payment method change then and there.

If you're looking for a different model, again worth just asking on Friday

Time for my once yearly sign in to the forums.

Wasn’t going to bother this year, but reserved a slot at my local Apple Store for the 128gb Pro Graphite as I’m prone to changing my mind and already on the program.

Battery life and camera system convinced me to upgrade.

After a bit of maths last night my iUP + SIM (EE with 20%) + Apple One subscription would work out £300+ more than taking out an EE full works contract with a new 20% off code

(I know AppleCare/loss of EU roaming etc. I have insurance and can take AppleCare separate if I need/roaming I can switch a smart benefit if we’re ever allowed to travel freely again)

Pulled the trigger through EE this morning and cancelled my 8am iUP reservation.

Question for those on the EE route, I see that tracking order numbers start 001 not the 3 letters in the email. How did you all get your tracking numbers to keep an eye on their progress?

I presume you placed order online hence the 3 letters.

I placed my order over the phone which starts with 001.

Anyone know the thickness of the ESR Armorite screen protectors compared to the standard ESR ones which are only 0.3mm thick ? I assume the Armorite ones are thicker but haven't been able to find out.

Wooohooo its Wednesday Case Day!!!!
Leather case in Green arriving.

Funnily I ordered from Apple on Monday, it was £4.99 for Wednesday delivery or free for Thursday, I chose the free option and it is still arriving today...

Anyone else been 'Upgraded to iCloud+, Free of Charge' ?!

My other half received her email the other day but I didn't get anything (I have the 2Tb plan which is shared with my family - perhaps that's why I didn't get the email ) ?

Not even sure there is any differences with iCloud+ anyway)....?!
Yes I did too. I’m not really sure what the difference is. I need to look into it further.

Yep placed online. Do I need to contact them phone/chat to get the 001 to track?
In my personal experience ring them and confirm the pre-order.

In my past i have instances where i got pre order email for online orders but they never got processed and had to place order again over the phone.

If you already pay for an iCloud Plan then this has been renamed to iCloud+. iCloud is now the free tier with the 5GB storage.

I am the family share organiser and didn't receive it, but I know others have.

Yes received an official email yesterday but was upgraded to iCloud+ when i jumped on to iOS15 Beta badwagon.

Private Relay is very good indeed for privacy but it does slows down Safari browsing me which i can live with.

Im also using Hide My Email and created alias for my main personal email accounts.

I got a Midnight Black Leather case incoming today as well. Happy days

I’m sure Restoring From Backup ALSO transfers all apps and email accounts too so you don’t have to set them up again.

So Special Delivery insures for up to £500? I never knew that was the case….!

Last time I used it, yes it transfers all apps and email accounts, but I had to re-enter all email account passwords etc. With a phone to phone transfer it also transfers all passwords etc as well, so you literally do nothing (other then teh secure banking apps etc)......

yeah they don’t do a clear one, I have to read on my 12pro, it’s too thick

only decent case I have was the spigen air skin for my X. Recent phones don’t have one

This. I‘ve never been a huge fan of some attitudes on here when it comes to getting a phone only to ‘decide’ they want a different colour, GB size, model, or to even keep their old handset after all. Instead of cancelling their order, they get the phone to ’play with’ for a fortnight, before giving back. Its a bit selfish and entitled IMO as it means somebody has missed out on getting theirs on launch day.

It kind of is, yeah.

Especially when see people having issues ordering and their dates slipping.

The FAQ section here confirms it’s the same 0.3mm

Same. Ordered from Apple and Friday was my free option. Just had a text from Royal Mail to say it’ll be delivered today. I don’t start work until later so that’s what out well. Though it’s Tracked 24 so doesn’t require signing for.

+1

I also find it naive when people suggest because Apple is a large and profitable company this is perfectly acceptable. Apple is profitable because it sells its products at a profit. When setting their prices they will factor in the cost of returns. So all of us pay more for every unit we buy due to the anticipated returns. The returned units can not be re-sold as new and become "white box" replacements for warranty issues, etc.

Flame suit is donned and ready, but I wish people would not deliberately take advantage of Apple's generous return policies. The cost ends up being reflected in the price of the products and we all bear that cost.
