It’s just the new name for the iCloud subscription. You’ll be on iCloud+. If you go to the iCloud setting, a pop-up should appear telling you about it. Did for me and I didn’t get the email.

...ok thanks although mine still shows just iCloud (I'm still on iOS 14.8) even when I go into the iCloud section in Settings.

I have a question which may have already been answered. I have a 12 Pro Max and an Apple Watch Series 5. I’m planning on doing the phone to phone transfer. When I do that will my Apple Watch transfer and pair with the new phone automatically or do I need to unpair it from my 12 Pro Max first. I did the phone to phone transfer last year but I can’t remember how to deal with the Apple Watch. If anyone can let me know please.

If you already pay for an iCloud Plan then this has been renamed to iCloud+. iCloud is now the free tier with the 5GB storage.

I am the family share organiser and didn't receive it, but I know others have.

....same with me - I'm the family organizer on a 2Tb plan but no email received and no indication on my iPhone 12 on iOS 14.8 to show I have been moved to iCloud+ (I don't use Apple One as I just pay for iCloud storage and Apple Fitness separately - don't need the other bits which comes with Apple One).

The new phone will prompt you and ask you if you want to transfer your watch across, then on the watch you click accept and it will move across in a few minutes.

Time for my once yearly sign in to the forums.

Wasn’t going to bother this year, but reserved a slot at my local Apple Store for the 128gb Pro Graphite as I’m prone to changing my mind and already on the program.

Battery life and camera system convinced me to upgrade.

After a bit of maths last night my iUP + SIM (EE with 20%) + Apple One subscription would work out £300+ more than taking out an EE full works contract with a new 20% off code

(I know AppleCare/loss of EU roaming etc. I have insurance and can take AppleCare separate if I need/roaming I can switch a smart benefit if we’re ever allowed to travel freely again)

Pulled the trigger through EE this morning and cancelled my 8am iUP reservation.

Question for those on the EE route, I see that tracking order numbers start 001 not the 3 letters in the email. How did you all get your tracking numbers to keep an eye on their progress?

how did you get 20% from EE? I can get it from work but its only for new customers. Since I already have a contract with them it doesn't apply to me :( any way round that?

+1

I also find it naive when people suggest because Apple is a large and profitable company this is perfectly acceptable. Apple is profitable because it sells its products at a profit. When setting their prices they will factor in the cost of returns. So all of us pay more for every unit we buy due to the anticipated returns. The returned units can not be re-sold as new and become "white box" replacements for warranty issues, etc.

Flame suit is donned and ready, but I wish people would not deliberately take advantage of Apple's generous return policies. The cost ends up being reflected in the price of the products and we all bear that cost.
completely agree with this and it surprises me that complete no quibble returns are allowed for such expensive items.

If I'm completely honest, transferring Apple Watch stuff is VERY random - sometimes it transfers over seamlessly (using both Phone to Phone and Restore from Backup) but other times it doesn't and you have to unpair and then repair to the new phone.

I've experienced all scenarios when switching phones in the past - it makes no sense....?!

I was the same. My work perks codes wouldn’t work as it’s new customers only.

Fortunately this year I had a back up as I’m doing a Uni course in my off hours so I’m a student again and have access through that

To think that in 48 hours time, some of us will be already using our brand-new phones. Here is to hoping we all get an early delivery slot through DPD. I checked the DPD app and I had a delivery about a month ago, and it was delivered to my house at 07:44 AM, so maybe I will be lucky again?!

Now what….?

...not always it doesn't.

....that's just one scenario - its not hard written that this WILL happen so just be aware!!!

@Mr.C Exactly this, its annoyingly random

I did the phone to phone transfer though a few days ago with no issues, wear the watch throughout the process, it takes abit longer and you can't use the phone while its completing but I had no issues so will be doing this again

It prompts you at some point if you want to use the watch with the new phone (at this point im guessing its paired with both devices) and then it just carries on with the transfer. Take note my achievements didn't transfer over for another day but then they just appeared

I never unpaired my watch once from the old phone, the transfer finished and then I just did the usual turn off find my and sign out of iCloud to get the phone ready to send off to MM
