It’s just the new name for the iCloud subscription. You’ll be on iCloud+. If you go to the iCloud setting, a pop-up should appear telling you about it. Did for me and I didn’t get the email.

Has anyone who purchased on Friday from Apple not been charged yet? My delivery is not till Oct 4 and I have not been charged. I did get an email confirmation and my order is showing up in the store app but am a bit worried that Apple have not even done a pre authorisation on my card

The return policy allows you to do it, you're not doing anything wrong, so do whatever you feel like doing.
Apple is one of the biggest companies in the world, I don't think they'll be too hurt by you returning the phone...
I’d expect you to see movement on Friday too… based on previous years that second slot of deliveries moved on release day
Edit: that’s if you meant you were in that second slot.. think there was a 29-4th Oct slot (around those dates I can’t remember exactly!) and then a further 4-11th I think.
I watch all of his videos. I find him quite interesting to watch and listen to as he always seems to speak sense and not just hype everything up for the sake of it.

I reckon it would be great to see people post pics of their phones in opened boxes having just received them from the courier.
No issues here (Spigen Ultra Hybrid case) but then I do remove the case to charge overnight and give it a wipe out pretty regularly to get rid of any bits of dust / grit.
I think anyone who was previously paying for any tier of iCloud storage above the free (5GB?) one will get the upgrade. It's not linked to having Apple One (although if you have Apple One you do get it anyway, because upgraded iCloud storage is part of that plan). The additional features are iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, HomeKit Secure Video and Custom Email Domains.
The additional on iCloud+ is private relay (vpn), hide my email, HomeKit security video on iCloud without using your storage plan and custom email domains.
But as mentioned it’s just a rebrand for subscribed plans
Woo Hoo, can get excited now had a bad feeling mine would be delayed as I've seen that in the past with orders through carriers but it's just updated today so taking Friday off to play with the new gadgety goodness😁
I found this really helpful, as my main motivation for upgrade this year is the camera improvements. Interesting that the macro shots seem to be so good, this is going to be a great feature for me.
It’s not Apple it’s more the people still waiting for a phone themselves who could of had that unit.
