Which Model are you getting?

So does mine but I got the iCloud+ message.

I think you may need to be on iOS15, but do this to check:

  1. Open the Settings app and tap on your name at the top of the page.
  2. Select iCloud.
  3. On the list you should now see Hide My Email and Private Relay...
If you see these then you are on iCloud+

...it must be an iOS 15 thing (strange how my wife received an email about iCloud+ though as she has not updated yet) - I don't see any of those options when I go to my iCloud section in Settings.

I must still be on standard iCloud then (I have a 2Tb Plan)....??!

Similar Q. What if i’m setting up my new iPhone from scratch? Do i just have to wipe my watch and start from scratch as well?

edit: above link is helpful. Thanks
Yes, you won't have the backup from the old iPhone.
When you unpair your watch a backup of the watch is stored in your icloud backup, you can see this under iCloud backups. If you don;t bring this across the watch has nothing to reference.

@H-B0mb are you just planning to buy the same one in a few weeks but just a different payment method? If you're picking up the phone you want on Friday, then just ask them to do the payment method change then and there.

If you're looking for a different model, again worth just asking on Friday
Hi @Jinjin yes. The only issue is that I won’t get the new credit card until next week.

The only thing I’m actually considering now is to move from 128 to 256. I’m into photography and have started taking most of my photos in ProRaw which eats up a lot of space.

Thanks

I hope the DPD guy on friday is different to the one last Friday, as he CBA to come to my house and changed delivery to pickup shop which is 2 towns over... (I live in a village TBF)

are there any issues on the banking apps when moving from Touch ID to Face ID?

Nope - seamless. The app will just ask if you want to use FaceID, just the same as when it asked if you wanted to use TouchID.
FaceID is awesome.

I'm sure you'll get it when you're on iOS 15 ;)

MM have paid out!

Hasnt hit my account yet though - how long does it take to hit your account once you receive the email confirmation from MM?
Maybe after 2pm, I'm hoping mine is sorted today, they recieved it yesterday ay 5.07pm.
Mine is coming to Paypal, not sure whether that will be different to BACS.

I’d expect you to see movement on Friday too… based on previous years that second slot of deliveries moved on release day

Edit: that’s if you meant you were in that second slot.. think there was a 29-4th Oct slot (around those dates I can’t remember exactly!) and then a further 4-11th I think.
I think theirs might be same as mine, 4th to 11th of Oct. Does anyone remember how quickly the third slot started moving? And to the person who first asked this question, I actually called Apple yesterday to ask and they told me that they won't take that money before the phone is ready to ship. They had already checked my payment method and told me that it was ok.

I was about to be impatient and order mine from somewhere else but in the end decided against it. I can wait for a couple of weeks, I think the phone will be worth it.

If I'm completely honest, transferring Apple Watch stuff is VERY random - sometimes it transfers over seamlessly (using both Phone to Phone and Restore from Backup) but other times it doesn't and you have to unpair and then repair to the new phone.

I've experienced all scenarios when switching phones in the past - it makes no sense....?!
🤷🏼‍♂️
Yeah I’m going with backing up my old phone to my MacBook, unpairing my watch. Restoring to my new phone and repairing my watch. Tried and trusted method that works every time
