Decided to 'downgrade' this year to 128GB as I am only using 98GB storage of my current 256GB (plus 2TB iCloud).
Feels like a waste of £100 squid on memory from last year!

Matte Black Pro Max for me please Tim.

S7 watch new design looks great, reading Apple has had production problems with difficulties to mass produce, we may see a staggered or late launch.

I am also a fan of Pixel phones so interested to see the camera battle between the Pixel 6 Pro and 13 Pro, video in particular.

I think the event will be on the 21st and invite will go out next week on the 14th the leakers just guessed

Another dud screen protector from Amazon turned up (ESR Armorite) from a different supplier. Maybe it’s the universe’s way of telling me to sit out this upgrade cycle. Too late universe *shakes fist*

Blimey, sounds like suppliers on Amazon are currently taking the pi55 with the ESR protectors for the 13.

Tempted to buy directly from ESR.
For the Armorite version it comes to £25.28 (including shipping of £5.40) using ESRBEST as a coupon code to knock of £3.51.

Highly rate ESR but that is a punchy price for a 2 pack protector!

Yeah, on both you can see they’ve stuck a sticker over one that says suitable for iPhone 6/7/8. I’m sure the one at £27.99 is legit but I’m not paying that. £15.99 does seem to be the going rate across the 12 lineup for these so hopefully the price drops next week

I think last year's iPhone 12 thread was the biggest - it ran for 727 pages..!!!!!!

The 2017 - iPhone X/8/8 thread was second, with 646 pages!

😮

Nice stats, thanks - I don't think we can top those this year, lets see!
Could be quite a few upgraders going from 11 to 13 etc.

Interesting both the 12 and X were the years of major hardware changes.

Do we know if all 4 models will be released at the same time this year? Or will it be another wait for the Pro Max?

Nothing 100% confirmed yet, but news/rumours (so far) don't seem to mention any delay on any models.

...sorry if I've missed it in the rumours but is the standard iPhone 13 size any different to the current iPhone 12 size ?

I guess I'll need to chuck out all my 12 cases if I decide to upgrade then (if the sizes are indeed different!)....!!!!!

Camera arrays appear bigger and buttons have moved ever so slightly

The attached is for the mini but illustrates the point

Marginally thicker i think, but the case killer will be the larger camera bump meaning 12 cases wont fit 13s. As ever a right pain that cases cant be carried over

According to a MacRumors report I dug out, the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro models will end up being thicker than their iPhone 12 predecessors.

Both of the new models are expected to be 7.57mm thick, up from 7.40mm in the iPhone 12 models.

However, that's a pretty small difference that most people probably won't really notice but 12 cases are likely to be affected as a result if using the 13.

The more significant change is to the camera bump - the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have camera bumps around 1.5mm to 1.7mm, the iPhone 13's bump will be 2.51mm, and the 13 Pro's will be 3.56mm. That increased size will prevent the lenses from sticking out as much as they do on the 12's.

Well, my Pro Max is joining the others on the way to Music Magpie. It’ll be a black 128gb Pro Max for me - and a watch as well. The current watch will stay until I’ve got the new one though - in case it takes a while.
Don’t mind if the phone takes a while. I‘ve currently gone back to my antique 7 plus. I’m really enjoying it. Bit slow in opening some apps but otherwise fine. What has surprised me is how well it holds onto a signal. There’s places where I know the 12 Pro Max would lose signal where the 7 plus hanging onto the network. And it’s confirmed that I really miss - and prefer - Touch ID

Well its that time of year again.. Thought id check to see if this thread had been made today and turns out im 2 months late already 😄

Not sure if i'm upgrading from my 12 Pro this year, as its pretty much no different from my previous 11 Pro and I can't see the 13 Pro being any different again other than a smaller notch and a 'better' camera (which to the naked eye will still look no different to the 11 Pro)

More interested in maybe upgrading my Series 4 watch (keep putting this off every year as again the upgrades are so small)

However...

Managed to get in on the £850 amazon mistake last year for a 128gb Pro, and ive just locked in a MM price of £630 (Put it in just now as I have a feeling invites for apples event will go out tonight and the price could drop, also holds for 21 days) So a loss of £220 makes it seem like it might be worth upgrading just to not lose as much money when it comes to selling it for a 14 Pro instead next year

So it might be a no brainer again to sell the phone while I can still get a very good amount for it and then we're looking at around £370 for a 13 Pro should all go well! 😁

I've gone for the silver option for the XS Max, 11 Pro Max and now the 12 Pro Max. Major benefit to me is that I can very easily polish out scratches and dings as the stainless steel is uncoated. But frankly, I'm bored of the colour and quite in the mood for the rumoured copper-bronze if it does come to fruition.

Capacity-wise, I'd like to stay on 256GB for cost reasons as I still have 90GB available. I'll probably be ready to jump on board the 512GB train next year. Really hoping my hand isn't forced this year and that Apple doesn't remove the 256GB and replace it with 512GB to make room for a 1TB option.

This is how I justify it each year. My friends think I'm crazy that I get the new £1000+ phone every year but once you sell the 1 year old phone you're not paying that much... right?

Same here, I like using the phone with just a screen protector so being able to get scuffs out the band is good, but I fancy a change of colour this year (copper or maybe the black). How do other, non silver, owners, who don't constantly have a case on, find the coloured bands hold up?
