If we're expecting the announcement next Tuesday, I'm surprised the event itself hasn't been announced yet - don't Apple normally announce the event the week before ?

Maybe today ?!!!!

Should be today if it’s happening next week! Think it’s usually morning east coast time they pop out so around 5pm

What iPhone are you all planning on getting this year?
I went for the iPhone 12 Pro last year, but going back to the Pro Max size this year.

Tbh if I was going to have stuck with a pro max size it should have been for the 12. My biggest issue with the max is lack of pocket-ability for me, especially when commuting etc. Working at home this past 18 months would have been a perfect time to try it out.

Looks like it’s back to the office soon so I’ll be sticking the the 6.1” again.

If there’s no difference in camera spec then even less a reason to change

Another dud screen protector from Amazon turned up (ESR Armorite) from a different supplier. Maybe it’s the universe’s way of telling me to sit out this upgrade cycle. Too late universe *shakes fist*

The lack of pocketability was my reason for getting the smaller size last year and I do like the size, but I did miss having the larger screen.

Very excited to be switching to an iPhone. Plan is to buy an iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB (Matte Black) and an Apple Watch Series 7.

Yes!!

I’m with you on the Apple Watch too… rumours of short supply are putting me more on edge than for the phone!

Then a new mbp in nov

I wonder what the storage sizes of the iPhone will be this year...for the last few years I went for 256GB. This year I could use a bit more storage, 512GB would be perfect and 1TB would probably cost a lot if it is available.

Always feeling like it would drop out my pocket and not being comfortable using 1 handed had always been the reason I ended up returning the max phones when I’ve tried before. Failed for the 10 and 10s

Rumours I’ve seen said 128, 512, 1tb.

I’m currently 95gb out of 128gb so will stick with that I think.

360gb out of 2tb used on iCloud though 230 of that is by the family.

If those size rumours are true I can see a bigger price bump between the models.

I am also super excited for the watch, if the rumours are correct it looks great!

Keeping my series 5 titanium until I have my hands on the s7… still need the watch to keep my health data and running stats up to date, don’t want a gap if I sold the watch early!

Still not a fan of wearing it to sleep for the tracking benefits but need try.

Sorry off topic from the phones I know!

I think the size of the screen is a little misleading sometimes.

When I had an iPhone 8 Plus, I put it next to an iPhone 7 and saw that for the most part, the iPhone 8 Plus screen did NOT actually show more info than the screen of the 7. The 8 Plus screen just spaced the same info out to fill its bigger screen.....

This is exactly how I felt when I used my iPhone 8 Plus - it just wouldn't fit in a trouser pocket at all, especially when sitting down!

...I've been really happy with my Series 4 Space Black Apple Watch - was never a fan of the always on display of the newer models hence why I stayed with it.

But - if this year's watches have that newer squared shape we keep seeing, then I may switch (although they are now saying they could have a delayed launch around October.....).

Hey @Jinjin, do you mind fixing the link to last years thread in your first post? Doesn‘t seem to be working. Looks to be missing the trailing number reference. Cheers

I'll be seriously considering the S7 watch too. My stainless S5 is still running just fine, but the new form factor, a new battery (before the S5 starts to give up) and hopefully the S5 still not being considered too old when it comes to resale price, will be the draws for me. And yeah I'll be keeping the S5 until i have the 7 so there's no gap in the heath data either :)
