I also have a pickup at Apple tomorrow.

Apple order here - still in 'Processing' but states delivery tomorrow.......
Really hoping it's DPD so I get a time slot!

On a plus, my case was saying Saturday delivery is now saying arriving Friday too...... ;)

hmm so maybe last year was an anomaly with the early dispatch emails from DPD... we'd never had that (direct form apple orders) in previous years... thinking it will be afternoon onwards again :(

Was at awaiting confirmation until yesterday morning at which point the 24th was confirmed. Then it changed again this morning. Which model did you order? I think most that I’ve seen (correct me if I’m wrong guys) are for the Pro model and not the Max. Maybe they’re being prepared in batches 🤔 Apparently the tracker isn’t 100% reliable anyway and last year some of the guys heard from DPD before they got an update from EE

Mine is the pro max but it’s nothing to worry about , some years the tracker has never worked and some years I hear from DPD first. The EE tracker isn’t very good.

Have a 6:15pm collection slot tomorrow - going to be a long day!

Keep second-guessing my choice of silver, but think the novelty of blue or gold would wear off after a bit. Have a PB 12 which I still love, but the Sierra didn’t appeal as much.

Oh the nostalgia. The iPhone 5 was utterly stunning. At the time I remember being blown away by the industrial design and that amazing slate black finish contrasting with the black glass.

Of course the 5S then introduced space gray, lighter back finish which I think wasn't quite as nice.
Completely agree - Loved the iPhone 5! Was the real trend setter back in the day. Cant believe there were 16gb variants!!

Picking up my 256GB Silver 13 Pro Max from the Apple Store early tomorrow morning before work. This will be my first time going to an Apple Store on a product launch day. Not sure what to expect queue-wise. I'll be picking it up in Newcastle so hopefully shouldn't be too crazy. Excited to get to grips with those new cameras and the 120hz screen!
Don’t forget to make sure you have ID with you. Otherwise they won’t give you the phone.

Ok my fellow EE members. Just managed to get extra £5 loyalty discount via Chat.
If you previously had £5 off last year and have upgraded and the add on did not get rolled over you best try your luck.

My price per month has dropped to £43.30 after all discounts for iPhone 13 Pro 256GB.

For everyone who has ordered for in store collection at Apple, is your order still dating processing?

Also, I’ve had a pending payment since I ordered last Friday, but that has disappeared today, anyone else?

Yeh - that's normal. Once the store has closed tonight, they'll scan all the iPhones and assign to you so you'll get pickup.

As for the payment, I was about to say that's different to me, but actually my charge from Sunday is still showing as pending, so they haven't actually captured the transaction yet, so it could well drop off your account. That'll either change tonight once you get ready for pickup, or when you actually pick it up.

if i want to get a launch day phone w/o reservation (i'll get in line around 7am or sth) whats the better bet, covent garden or regent street?
Last time I was in line was for the iPhone 5 and I was in line around 10pm the night before (There was approx 10 people in front of me at that stage). Since then I always get it delivered. Not sure if the lines are as big these days with the pre-order collection times.

The latter is a bigger store, so maybe Cov Garden? I think that's what I'd do. However, may be busier....

I have the XM3’s and they’re the best headphones I’ve ever owned. I would love to get the XM4’s but I can’t justify it as my XM3’s work just fine.
I have the XM4s and they are very good. As far as I can work out there isn’t a great deal of difference sound wise from the AirPods Max, as there’s a limit to the amount of information you can send via Bluetooth. They do come with an audio cable which may improve sound quality, though I’ve not tested this as have better wired headphone. The noise cancellation is very good, probably on a par with Bose and much better than my AirPods Pros, and they are relatively light without too much clamping force, which is useful if you wear glasses. They also come with a decent hard case and have usb c charging which is a useful feature.

The two downsides are the built in microphones are pretty rubbish and they are on the base heavy side, which is fine for general listening but I wouldn’t want to do any mixes on them as even with the EQ in the app, you can’t get a flat response. From what I can work out the only real advantage over the XM3 is fast Bluetooth device switching - by default I have mine connected to both my iphone and iPad at the same time, which is useful if you get a call and are listening to something on the iPad. Finally they do have an on/off button, unlike the AirPods Max, and fold a bit more if you want to travel with them.

My dispatch notification for last year was at 11:30am on the Thursday, but I know that others got them throughout the day. That wasn’t DPD. UPS I think.

Ps. The card pre-auth often drops, they can still confirm (you won’t get another alert) and only do so once it’s shipped I think.

Another tip for EE customers - If you previously had BT Sport Ultimate as a smart add on and then pay the £5 per month for large screen access. The large screen will be removed as your tariff changes, if you contact 150 asking for it to be added again, they will try and charge you £15 per month for it, saying the service has been repriced.

However if you text SPORT to 150 the old £5 per month price is still valid.
