so to summarise moving the watch to a new phone with a clean install (not restored from back up)

just make sure everything is backed up to iCloud and then uppair on old phone and pair to new. everything else remains.

God I hope that's right... Because I really don't want to restore from iCloud backup JUST for the watch. Guess we'll find out tomorrow when we set-up as new! If I get my phone nice and early tomorrow (Royal Mail just says anytime before 1pm) I'll let you know!

Must admit I’m not too clued up with the watch. Didn’t someone mention much earlier in the thread not seeing their activity badges move across when setting up as new. Sure I’ve read that somewhere

Just keep a fresh backup and you’ll have a fallback if it doesn’t work

Nope, but will be starting the 13 Pro clean. I never carry over the BS from my old devices, both on iOS or Mac OS.

I backup EVERYTHING to iCloud

No box or wire, they just want the phone itself. It takes around 20-30 minutes for them to do the checks and set up payment etc.

yes, if you are restoring from backup then your iPhone 13 will look just like your current phone with the apps just how you have them

yes, if you are restoring from backup then your iPhone 13 will look just like your current phone with the apps just how you have them

And so how do I get around that don’t really want my screen on my iOS. I’ve gone to my settings into iCloud everything’s been switched to green except mail . Never done a clean install before thanks.

When you start your new phone and get asked if you want to restore from a back up.. select no and it will launch you into its default new phone layout.. aka starting clean
