Finally got everything set up from local backup but can't connect my Apple Watch.

It got halfway through as setting up and existing watch but then failed, now it won't connect to either of my phones 😣

Anybody got any ideas or am I going to have tp reset the watch and go from scratch? Wouldn't be the biggest drama to be fair.

I also had problems. I had to make sure it was fully unpaired from my XR and then set up as a new watch. It has kept all my data which is great. Not sure I knew what I was doing but it worked.

As there’s plenty of pictures of the 13, I thought I’d share some Geekbench 5 cpu and metal scores. The single core scores for the iPhone X, 12 pro and 13 pro are 919, 1590 and 1732. Similarly multi core scores are 2456, 4055 and 4695, so not a huge jump from the 12 but quite a jump from the X (to be fair that’s nearly four years old).

The metal scores are 4104, 9436 and 14251 for iPhone X, 12 Pro and 13 Pro respectively. I’m guessing the big jump between the 12 and the 13 is probably down to having 5 graphics cores rather than 4 (proportionally a four core would be about 11,400). Appreciate these are synthetic tests but does show that there isn’t a huge jump in performance from the 12 unless you are going for the pro versions.

Over the moon with our 13 Pro’s. Coming from the XR it feels ultra quality. It’s gives the impression it’s just a solid bar of metal, has some serious weight to it. The scrolling, particularly stopping scrolling instantly, is definitely noticeable. Also really impressed with the Armorite protector and Caseology Nano Pop Case.

I’ve already made a separate thread about this, but just wanted to ask here too;

Does anyone else with the new 13 / 13 pro have a gap like this at the top too? it’s only really visible when you look closely and at certain angles.

I’ve been told it’s pretty normal so far and shouldn’t affect any function or water resistance but I just want to see how common it is.

Got my 13 Pro in the Apple Store today. I’m coming from the XR and it’s definitely an upgrade, but the bigger screen on the Max would feel more apparent all the time. I think the size of the Max would annoy over time. As someone said in another thread, if the larger iPhone is a problem for you, a lot of what’s problematic doesn’t show up until you live with it.

I would return that. If you zoom in you can see parts of the metal frame in the gap.

Made me check mine, it’s deffo not like that and yeah it would annoy me enough to go get that replaced too

Anyone else get “Please enter a valid postal code” when trying to purchase Apple care via the about screen.

Anyone here ever used Apple's trade in option? They said they were gonna post me a trade in kit when they dispatched my new phone, so I expect it to arrive soon.

Do I just wipe the phone and return it in the envelope they send? Do they expect any peripherals?

Apple Trafford Centre we’re excellent, in and out and upgraded on iUP in a fraction over 10 mins. And kudos for Apple for handing out bottles of water to those queuing; the shopping centre was very busy and therefore very hot. The water was very much appreciated!

APPLECARE+ do people take it or or not bother ???
It’s personal preference

I can get my phone replaced in about 3 days with my bank account insuring it at £13 a month (and pretty much every bank will have something similar) which also gives me travel insurance and breakdown cover.
Or you can pay for Apple care and get it replaced immediately but at more of a cost for something you more than likely won’t use

I purchased the standard Applecare+ without loss and theft protection, prefer the peace of mind that a repair will not be expensive if I drop it. More so now that I’ve bought my first Max sized iPhone.

Same here insured via HSBC. All my gadgets from 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, Macbook, Airpods, Watch and other tech stuff for £19.50 per month plus in case I pass away 5k payout to my family (That cover in addition to life insurances in place lol).
