Another highly addictive thread this year. Thanks @Jinjin for sorting again. We’ve learnt some really useful lessons about reselling, couriers and carriers this year - all good to go for next year!

I had to erase my watch and then pair it with my new iPhone. I then restored from back up.
Ditto, had to do the same. Bit frustrating. The activity tracking went a bit funny for a while too, stayed on 5 hours standing for several hours, then jumped to 8 and back to 6!

Turned off fitness tacking on watch settings on the phone, turned off phone then watch, phone back on, tracking back on and lastly watch back on, and it sorted itself out.

Did anyone else have a problem with their AppleCare+ not being activated?

I ordered AC+ Theft & Loss when I ordered the phone. It was supposed to be activated automatically. Instead it says I have only limited warranty and if I check the order status it says "You removed: AppleCare+" which is totally untrue, I didn't touch it and my order confirmation clearly shows it should be included.

Apple care has been wonky for a lot of people today.

I didn’t buy it but if I tried earlier it said my device wasn’t eligible. It now looks like that is resolved so I can buy it if I want.


I would check again tomorrow and things should have caught up and show the correct status.
 
Home delivery has usually been quite reliable with Apple for me. But I had a bad feeling when I saw it was DHL for me this time. I really despise DHL and between failed deliveries and deliveries to the wrong address I have too many problems with them. I guess I’m calling Apple tomorrow when they’re open. It’s just a phone but I was looking forward to it today!

OK I just checked the DHL tracking page and now it says due to be delivered today! Fingers crossed I finally get it some time today! I thought DHL doesn’t do Saturday deliveries but apparently they do till 2pm, so should arrive much earlier.
 
I’ve just purchased AppleCare+ with theft and loss for my 13 Pro.

The last 10 iPhones I’ve had (which I’ve always used case less with a screen protector) I’ve never damaged one until my iPhone 11 Pro when I dropped it and cracked the screen. I insured through SO-SURE and whilst the experience wasn’t awful, it was a right pain having to send the phone off and being without it for 4 days etc. and it literally took about 10 phone calls for the claim to be processed.

At least with AppleCare+ they’ll either fix it instantly in store or just send a new device through the express replacement service. Definitely worth it to me.

I’ve gone for the monthly option as I only plan to keep this phone for a year before upgrading to the 14 Pro next year.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you, but it sounds like you should be set for tomorrow. My DHL tracking now shows delivery on Monday and the same 18.06 to 19.06 slot that failed me today. I will see what Apple says when the support lines open but I am not interested in another DHL failure on Monday.

me too, but its in their small print you can ring & cancel the two-year policy early for a prorated refund (£9.96 pcm instead)

It might change in the morning hopefully… or maybe it’s location dependent. I live in south east london.

Spent the entire evening since work ended setting up my beautiful new 13PM. Most apps that I want are all setup again now.

Setting up from fresh was a good opportunity to purge unwanted apps, improve security by changing many passwords while updating accounts, and migrating my 2FA over to iCloud Keychain’s new verification code feature.

Tomorrow I’ll get to test the camera a bit while out and about ☺️
