Nice! Once you put it on and put a case, you really don’t notice it at all.

Installation was pretty straightforward as well.

One time when being a woman with cards in a handbag is easier - airtag just dropped in there!
Tbh I really only need my cards for petrol fill ups at the pump and despite one car will be on fumes by tomorrow afternoon I’m avoiding them for as long as I can!

Would be nice to see how the ESR Amorite looks especially if people are saying it blends in with the screen due to the black edges. Currently got the normal ESR and you can see the outer silver lining which I don’t mind, nearly got it perfect but some dust specs under the protector which I don’t like.

Picked up my 13 Pro Max yesterday when the Birmingham store first opened. Quite a few people were turned away as they didn't have the ID to coincide with their collections.

Had my son with me for the morning, so I quickly set phone up ahead of our visit to the Sealife Centre, which was a great test of the new camera abilities. The new ultra wide angle lens is fantastic with the much wider aperture and autofocus - photos and videos in low light are no longer a smeary mess like they were with the previous basic ultrawide.

Went for the bog standard ESR screen protector, which went on perfectly first time with the installation frame. Only a small speck of dust on the bottom edge that I was able to lift off.

Took an age to transfer data across via macOS encrypted backup. It seemed to stall at some point, requiring a reboot to jostle it back into action.

Overall, I must say I'm a little underwhelmed, which is to be expected as an annual upgrader. Very much an S version of the 12 Pro Max with all the plusses and few of the minuses.

Nonetheless, my likes and dislikes:

Likes
- Battery life defo improved for streaming duties
- Cameras much improved across the board - even the main lens is a big step up from the shots I took yesterday
- New X60 Qualcomm modem is better at reception in fringe signal areas - my home typically gets 1-2 bars on O2 4G, whereas I'm regularly seeing 2-3 bars now; I can receive 5G from further away compared to the 12 Pro Max's X55 modem

Dislikes/indifferences
- Weight increase is noticeable
- ProMotion is subtle - nice to have, but disappointed it's not more impactful like the introductions of Retina or OLED in the past
- Cinematic mode is premature - doesn't work well in even medium light and no resolution or frame rate options; clearly the feature will be fully formed next year due to hardware roadmap improvements, or it's been purposely kneecapped to spread out and ration innovation

Personally, I noticed ProMotion more than the shift to OLED. But without a doubt, the jump to Retina with the 4 was the most impressive!!

I’ve still not had a chance to set my 13 PM up yet, too much family stuff on this weekend, looking forward to setting it up tonight! Picking up my Golden Brown leather case from JL later this arvo so I’ll be rocking that an Abyss Blue silicone with my 13.

On the ESR screen protectors, I’ve used them for years - extremely well made, very easy install with the frame, they protect the screen really well & don’t crack at the edges like other manufacturers. Best thing, you just don’t notice the ESR’s on the screen which is a massive factor. For me, they’re better than Spigen. Yeah, the Armorite was shipped with no package mention of the 13, it does appear to be the best ESR protector I’ve owned 👍

Well it’s been a mega busy, fun packed year again, I’m signing off now too. I’ve posted more than previous due to working from home. I just used to look in here but it’s better to get involved!

Did make my own thread on this but no response of yet so thought are post it on here. I think I have a camera defect as after further inspection have noticed a mark on the top left camera lens. I’m not sure if this is meant to be there or not. If others could assist and help me I would be very grateful. If you zoom in on the pic you should see what I’m on about. Well 24 hours with the 13 Pro and the camera alone was worth the upgrade. I went from the 12PM to the 13 Pro and the size is much better for me.

I knew I would miss the bigger screen but the iPad mini has filled that gap nicely.

I’ll continue to lurk in this thread because what else is there to do now 😂

Question: Do we need to have physical possession of a phone in order to cancel the AppleCare+ on it (paid in advance)?

I want to trade in my 12PM tomorrow but the AC+ line is shut on weekends. On the one hand I can’t think of any particular reason why I’d need the phone physically to cancel the plan, and I have all the proof of coverage etc I need. But on the other hand I’m thinking surely it’s too easy to sell someone your phone, say it has AC+ on it, and then refund it after you’ve posted it off?

Would love for someone to confirm please!

I think it blends in really well. You can't really tell because the black edges are directly on top of the bezel thanks to the installation frame.

However, if you've already got the normal ESR ones installed I'm not sure it's worth buying the Armorite ones - just wait until the current one needs replacing?

Can do, but I tend to take good care of my phone so I doubt it’ll need replacing haha. Now I’ve probably jinxed myself.

Ok, anyone with Applecare+ where your agreement shows an incorrect end date of 18th September rather then the 24th September - if you check coverage online the date will be correct. However, on your phone it may show end date of 18th Sept. I've been told this can take up to 72 hours to realign - so as long as your coverage when you check online is ok then you're all good
