One last visit to say I’m loving the camera

I posted mine off yesterday. I’m tracking it but as it’s the weekend it’s still at the Glasgow mail centre.

I wrapped it up in lots of bubble wrap and used a larger envelope. The one provided was to small for my layers of bubble wrap.

Let us know when they’ve confirmed delivery of it and how long it takes. I’ve got until the 3rd for my locked in price and they offered me £494 for my
iPhone 12. More than anyone else.

We can’t finish this thread yet.. some of us have unfinished business with EE :p. After ordering on 18th, today they sent their first communication, a measly text saying ‘your order is on track’ but order tracker shows no change!

Anyone care to share their wallpapers? Please no nudity.
I’ve been recently rotating between these four. My current one is the second one (blue mountains) - goes really nicely with the Sierra Blue

Edit: updated with the X-ray from the iFixit tear down for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Hi guys, looking to buy the iPhone 13 pro max out - right. Not bothered on colour, 128gb where am I most likely to get it delivered first from? Has anyone ordered off Amazon?

No, AppleCare doesn’t cover cosmetic damage. I use a screen protector, so no risk of scratches on the front. The stainless steel sides hold up very well and I’ve also had no scratches on the back glass before either. I do put the phone in a shock sock when in my pocket though so it doesn’t get scratched by anything that may be in there.

Thanks - must check that. I was going to get a Fitbag (see Amazon), although the one I bought for my SE1 was such a tight fit I'd never have been able to take the phone out if it rang. Perfect for my iPod though.

Memo to self: don't look for iPhone 13s on eBay

No problem, I’m actually using a different brand this year as they didn’t have the shock socks in stock. Just search ‘Olixar sock’ on Amazon. It’s literally identical other than the branding. Easy enough to get the phone out quickly if it’s ringing.

Right - haven’t actually managed to set up my 13 Pro yet ( 😮 I know 🙄), but its now time!

It’s now 12:36 Sunday lunchtime - I’ll report back once I’m done (I’m gonna be using the iPhone to iPhone transfer method + hoping my S4 Apple Watch also gets transferred during the process without having to manually unpair from old phone and pair to new phone).

See you all on the other side…….
Right, I’m back!

Just finished the transfer process - most of everything and all app info transferred to my new Pro 13 other than the blue MicroSoft Authenticator app. None of this info was transferred even when I re-signed into my MS account!! That now means I need to re-setup all my 2FA accounts again. Not a massive deal as I’ll just re-set them up as and when I need to and get asked on the relevant websites.

Apple Watch: This does NOT seamlessly transfer over (well, not for me it didn’t). As the watch was already paired to the iPhone 12, it first needed to manually be unpaired before the pop up shows on the new phone to transfer the watch across (all my ring activities carried across - someone was saying they had issues with this).

On a final note - damn, that 13 Pro is HEAVY!!!

Now just have to get my iPhone 12 (with 3 cases and 2 packs of tempered glass protectors) ready to sell on FB MarketPlace this week - looking to fetch at least £519 (Argos price). Anybody looking to buy a 12, one careful owner and in mint condition!!!

😁😁😁

Did you tick the back up to iCloud in ms Authenticator?

I got caught out the first time but when you initially open the app don’t click log in but there’s a link further down to restore from back up. That worked perfectly

By the way - how do I take a macro photo shot? When I go to the camera and tap the 3x zoom button and then pinch to zoom in even closer, the photo just blurs?!
Normal camera, get closer (physically) and it’ll move to macro mode(you’ll notice it moves to other camera).
Just transferred from the 12 pro, time to play.
Also, seamless transfer for the Vodafone esim, done and running within 2 minutes.

I already had the iCloud button turned on on my 12 but on the 13 Pro, it didn’t have an option to restore - perhaps because I did a phone to phone transfer ?

Ah right ok, yea, as I move in closer, the camera kinda does switch to a different mode so thanks for that 👍🏼 Do I have to use the 3x zoom in options or is that not macro mode?

I use Microsoft Authenticator for work. I also have the beta version via test flight so I had to install it separately. I just logged in this my work ID and approved my new iPhone on my old iPhone 12 Pro.

Also, forgot to say, the Midnight (black!) leather case looks quite nice on the Sierra Blue 13 Pro so may leave it on to see how I get on with it.

The Amorite glass protector also went on REALLY easily with zero bubbles or dust!

I would say that the only negative I have is the fact that the phone now wobbles when placed on a flat surface but hey, we can’t have everything!!

Hey guys and girls...I'll post this on this thread as it's been such a friendly thread this year and in previous years. It's not connected to an order though...

Has anyone noticed any CarPlay issues with their new phone? I had my 12PM set up with my car, and all worked fine. However, I connected my 13PM up yesterday, and can't play anything through Apple Music (maps/messages etc work fine).

I initially didn't think much of it, as I was driving. However, today I've had some time at home to investigate. When I try to play something through Apple Music, it's as if the whole CarPlay connection resets, as the phone appears to stop charging for a few seconds, and no phone is available for those few seconds. It then reconnects, and everything but Apple Music works.

I've tried with another cable, but no change. I've also tried deactivating then reactivating CarPlay on both my phone and car, but no change.

As my 12PM isn't being collected by its new owner until this evening, I reconnected it to the car, and everything, including Apple Music, works!

Both phones are running iOS 15 (19A346) and I can't see any settings which differ between the 2 phones (13PM was set up via device-to-device transfer from the 12PM)

In conclusion, I can't see it being software-related, and it's a bit of a weird one to be hardware-related. However, unless I can find the reason behind it, I guess my only option is to try a replacement through Apple. Really don't want to have to go down that route though, as it seems silly for such a 'trivial' thing!
