Is there a thread where it has a compilation of trade-in/recycling websites that we all users can follow. It would be good for next year too and help us compare which site gives the best price. So far I have:
- Argos
- WeBuyAnyPhone
- CompareandRecycle
- Mazuma
- Envirofone
- O2 (this one is giving best recycle price for my 12 Pro as of now)
- eBay (best bet for value, will give the most - tip: wait for weekend offer)
- Facebook Marketplace (be wary there is no buyer/seller protection like eBay)

anyone on EE on an unlimited contract with family? I have the plan with the most data and the kids are on tiny amounts, I then transfer data across each month.
it says you can still do this with an unlimited plan but I’d believe it if I’d heard someone confirm it!
I'm on the EE unlimited plan with a seperate sim in my iPad. The family sharing allows a maximun of 120gb to be sent from the main account to any other devices in the family in one calendar month.

A few pages back (cant find the post now!) someone mentioned how they use a Hive Plug to charge their phone to 80%, where it then stops.
How is this set up......? I mean, am I being thick or how does the plug know the phone is at 80% and to stop charging? Or is another app in play here?

As long as tracking proves it was delivered and signed for you should be covered, right?
Hope it gets resolved asap!

If its been delivered then that's as far as the cover goes when sending via Special Delivery I think. If Argos subsequently lose the device inside their warehouse, I'm not sure who would cover you for that (certainly not Royal Mail)....?

Argos should cover that.
RM have their tracking that sows they have done their duty......

Hopefully its just a delay/glitch. It'll turn up!!
Doesnt stop the worry, I know!

There is also Rebuy.

Max battery life is epic. My 'typical days' at the moment aren't all that typical for the time being, and hopefully not for too much longer, but I'd be very happy with this. Sitting at home on wifi isn't what I want to be doing, but this is encouraging after a week.

Bought a Hue Smart Plug to play with & experimenting with a Shortcut to turn-off charging at 80% - I'm using a 12W wired charger shared with Watch. Phone then just sits level overnight and drops steadily through the day down to c.40%. I don't use my personal phone much during the day, but it didn't seem that bothered by a long FaceTime call & some light browsing / messaging sat on the sofa.

Please advise how you set up the smart plug/shortcut to stop charging at 80%?

You guys really need to chill.

Someone already said that they'd called Argos & they'd had 1,000+ phones arrive. Some poor sod(s) is working his way through the pile as fast as possible in a draughty shed for £9 an hour. Amazon, Apple and the like have set expectations for logistics sky-high and now no-one has any patience (or faith) anymore ... They're also not particularly in any hurry to get them turned around for sale either!

You have to use the automation section and use the 'battery level' trigger - set this 'rises above 80%'. From there choose Home and then choose your plug and set it to turn off. Though, @hirsthirst do correct me if this is wrong!

You have to make sure you have your smart home set up in Apple's Home system for this to work.

I sent mine to music Maggie £527 they are giving me for 12 PRO 128gb phone is flawless not a mark on it. does hurt seeing pretty much 50% value wiped off less than 12 months in. miss the days iPhones had a little more value held. but I couldn’t resists the 13PM with the 120hz and better battery life. 2 key features I couldn’t turn down.

@Ifti - Very easy, and there are some other threads about it (which gave me the idea).

I'm convinced that using the 20W iPad mains charger with MagSafe Duo overnight every night - and also an in-car wireless charger in a hire car when it was already 34'C in Croatia - absolutely shagged the battery in my 12 Pro down to 88% health in 10 months.

Extreme heat is the real enemy, but I don't think leaving it slow-roasting for 8-hours does it any good either. Many people seem not to be bothered (as it only has to last them a year) but I like looking after things, though hopefully not to the extent that I'm 'only keeping it nice for the next owner'.

I have Hue bulbs throughout my house & also a Hue Bridge, so the Smart Plug is an easy add-on. In Shortcuts app create an Automation that says when battery hits X% turn off plug - obvs you need the Hue app installed and the necessary Hub and Plug for it to work. Clearly also only works on that one particular charger at my bedside too ...

Perfect thanks!
I may try that!

I’m interested in hearing charging advice for when we travel.

I have…

An iPhone 13PM.
An Apple Watch S6.
An iPad Pro (USB C).
Sony XM3 headphones (USB C).
A travel fan (USB C).

I currently use a 6 port USB mains charger when we travel, but I find it’s not all that quick/efficient, so I’d like to find a way of simplifying.

I‘m looking for something similar I guess, that can output high and fast.

I was thinking about the MagSafe Duo charger for night time charging of my watch/phone, but that still leaves other things that need charging, and it’s quite expenaive.

Cheers.

Nice one - my cash has landed too, whoever pushes the button must've been on lunch 1-2 today 😂

£660 showing as credited by "Bst Mpx". Very pleased with Argos, and thanks @iamyash for starting the list above as I'll start paying a bit more attention earlier next time now I see how wide the spread is.

Mine arrived at Argos just before yours (yesterday at 08:24) but I haven't heard anything yet - hopefully today.

£660 in my bank account from Argos.

Phone has been posted on Tuesday, received on Wednesday morning, valuation confirmed Thursday afternoon, paid on Friday at about 13.00.

Overall very happy and £60 more than MM - yes a bit slower but it is fine!
Marginally slower but worthwhile as they paid me £66 more than MM offered.

Still nothing from Argos, phone has been with them since Monday 8:30am. Sent via special delivery.

called a couple of times and they have been great customer service wise but are reliant on warehouse so there’s a delay in finding out what’s happening

I guess you want all of that lot charging overnight so you can use it the next day, except perhaps the iPad & headphones?

Depending on where you stay we find we're usually short of sockets, so a multi-port type hub is the best idea I've come up with - you don't want it to look like a Tandy showroom though ... You only need four USB-C outlets + MagSafe Duo?

MSD is a neat solution for iPhone + Watch & reduces USB leads by one, but overpriced for what it is - I was glad to get mine as a Christmas present as I'd never have justified one to myself.
