Which Model are you getting?

I've just emailed them to confirm receipt of my phone even though Royal Mail shows it has 100% been delivered to them.....

Lets see if I get a response today....

...they just responded:

If its been delivered then that's as far as the cover goes when sending via Special Delivery I think. If Argos subsequently lose the device inside their warehouse, I'm not sure who would cover you for that (certainly not Royal Mail)....?

That’s my £601 in my bank account now, 22 hours after I received my confirmation email from Argos.

That's super fast turnaround time for you - nice one!
👍🏼

£660 in my bank account from Argos.

Phone has been posted on Tuesday, received on Wednesday morning, valuation confirmed Thursday afternoon, paid on Friday at about 13.00.

Overall very happy and £60 more than MM - yes a bit slower but it is fine!

👍🏼

Still nothing from Argos, phone has been with them since Monday 8:30am. Sent via special delivery.

called a couple of times and they have been great customer service wise but are reliant on warehouse so there’s a delay in finding out what’s happening

Mine was delivered yesterday (Thurday 30th Sept) morning - this is what they are saying :

I guess you want all of that lot charging overnight so you can use it the next day, except perhaps the iPad & headphones?

Depending on where you stay we find we're usually short of sockets, so a multi-port type hub is the best idea I've come up with - you don't want it to look like a Tandy showroom though ... You only need four USB-C outlets + MagSafe Duo?

MSD is a neat solution for iPhone + Watch & reduces USB leads by one, but overpriced for what it is - I was glad to get mine as a Christmas present as I'd never have justified one to myself.
I’ve actually got a 3rd party USB C Duo wireless charger, for overnight charging of Watch & phone.

I’d just like to be able to plug it into something that I can also plug the iPad and headphones into to charge (and my phone if I needed a fast charge for some reason).

I got my 'processed' email at the end of the second day after it arrived, and the payment lunchtime day after that.

In your timeline @Dino F that'd be an email tonight and a payment on Monday after lunch?

14 hours if I’m lucky. I don’t track workouts with it (have a garmin), Deleted all apps and swapped to the fitness watch face to reduce complications (and therefore I assume battery power updating them), and it’s made little difference. It’s the 40mm which doesn’t help but as I say it’s been like this all the way through.
Going to be an expensive couple of months at this rate…
Have you checked your battery health? If it’s below 80% you may have a warranty claim. Mine is at 84%.

Has anyone here cancelled AppleCare+ coverage and had the refund sent to Barclays? If so do Barclays refund the credit to a bank acccount or send a cheque?

I have just cancelled my cover on the my old iPhone after speaking to numerous people at Apple, this appears to be one procedure they could have run more smoothly. I’ve already cleared the balance on my iUP Barclays finance.

for those of you who have switched to esim, would you recommend the switch? I am on O2 and still using a regular sim. thinking of picking up and esim to switch over for no reason other than its the 'future'. But does it really have any benefits or is it better to stay normal sim for now? I have no read dual sim needs at the mo

Have also had a notification from my bank to say that I‘ve been paid in full (£659 for 12PM 256GB) by Argos, so I guess they do a payment run at 14:00 each day - worth adding to the wiki for next year?

And with that - I’m going to bow out of the thread until keynote week next year. Lovely to chat with you all, hope those of you waiting for phones get them soon, and may the trade in gods continue to be kind. Adios! 😊

Updated list:

- Argos
- WeBuyAnyPhone (Price lock 21 days)
- CompareandRecycle
- Mazuma
- Envirofone
- O2 (this one is giving best recycle price for my 12 Pro as of now)
- eBay (best bet for value, will give the most - tip: wait for weekend offer to avoid high selling fees)
- Facebook Marketplace (be wary there is no buyer/seller protection like eBay)
- MusicMagpie (look out for promo codes)
- Rebuy

Tip: Get your price locked in before Apple's September event to avoid further reduction in prices. I have put a reminder for end of August 2021 :)

Firstly if you lost your phone somebody if you don’t have the sim lock on,can put the sim in their phone rack up a bill up premium calls etc, but for me I can’t be bothered messing about with a small piece of plastic every year it’s outdated ,I’m going to change everyone over in my house over to esim it’s the future 😉

I’m actually thinking of keeping this 12 PM to use as a burner phone, so I can send in my 13PM in nice and early next year.

I’m private hire driver in London, so a good phone is essential for every day use, I couldn’t get by with an SE, or an older model for example.

I sent mine to music Maggie £527 they are giving me for 12 PRO 128gb phone is flawless not a mark on it. does hurt seeing pretty much 50% value wiped off less than 12 months in. miss the days iPhones had a little more value held. but I couldn’t resists the 13PM with the 120hz and better battery life. 2 key features I couldn’t turn down.

The value is still here as MM will then sell your phone for ~£830! They recyclers have been much more aggressive in the pricing the last few years.

True but how many are they shifting at £830? I guess if you could knock 10% with a code it’s ok. but for £120 more you can get a brand new 13 PRO

Barclays will return that refund to you but I did chase them to speed it along last year

I switched over because EE enabled me to do it using their app. I initially resisted because you had to call them or call into a store and if you needed to change your phone it was a bit of a palaver. If O2 lets you do something similar there's no reason not to. It doesn't make a difference, but as you say, it's 'the future' and those of us posting in this forum will tend to have geekish tendencies and be early adopters!

If you’re looking at running dual sims then yes, otherwise for me, no. I take out the sim one time a year and transfer it into the new device and never think of it again.

Maybe the product needs to mature but having to request a transfer etc (or whatever the process is) is unnecessary for what is transferring from one phone to another.. a 20s job with physical SIM.

But if you need to have two lines on one device, consolidate down a work phone and personal phone etc then go for it.

I’m out the loop with trade ins this year given I’ve sold mine privately (someone I know) so if anyone cares to summarise I’ll happily update the first post. DM me
