Which Model are you getting?

Yes that looks good , I’m useless at putting screen protectors on , hope it’s idiot proof 😆

it says compatible with 12 on Amazon, the 13 has a smaller notch , think I’ll wait for an updated one

It’s remembered got a £50 voucher from amazon due to joining virgin media. Think will use that to get the silicone case from apple. Think I’ve decided one case only this year.

I plan to use the phone without a case at home at times.
Exactly what I do, I use my 12PM without a case at home, only going 1 case for this year!
Usually I get over excited post keynote and order a few - California Poppy, Saddle Brown and White for 2020!

I've got 2 x £40 Amazon vouchers saved specifically for an Apple case! 👍

Also still tempted to skip this year as well.

I rarely even use the phone for apps that much, Mostly it’s the iPad that gets all the usage daily.

Just thinking out loud with these price drops MM, Plunc etc presume it’s coz they are now flooded with stock of all versions of 12’s. Once these stocks are reduced are the prices likely to hold decent for next year before the announcement

11 Pro Max 256GB

MM price locked in last week Tuesday - £500 - just handset with no accessories

Been offered £550 private sale today - with all accessories included.

I do have spare chargers and cables, so not an issue there. Guess I may take up the private sale offer, although sound like a fair price??

Interesting article here saying the 12 will not be on sale next year from Apple as it's to be deemed a 'legacy' phone.

They usually hang on to some form of the previous version so this would be a bold new move by Apple.
Maybe their thinking is the lower price of the 12 would dent 13 sales so its financially effective to reduce the 11 by £100 (or more) and make both the 12 and XR redundant. Not sure if that will happen to be honest.

Hopefully its not true but if Apple discontinue the 12 then used prices will drop faster than the speed of light!

What would this mean for iPhone 12 support?

To me this would suggest that there aren't going to be so many massive differences between the 12 and 13 (e.g. 12 will already do magsafe, form factor etc) so rather than have the 12 as the cheaper option and eat into sales to people who would otherwise go for the 13; just keep the 11 around instead (probably cheaper to make for Apple too) so people are more drawn to the 13.
They've done this in some previous cycles haven't they (e.g. drop the preceding phones when its 'just an S update')?

Good question. Apple will support iPhones (and all devices it makes) for seven years from the last time it sold that particular model. So what that means is as long as your iPhone was still being sold by Apple up to seven years ago the Company will still service it - in other words, Apple will help you fix it etc, for a price of course.

Or alternatively it may enhance prices because there would be fewer of them around than would otherwise be the case?
Yep that is a decent point, bit like with the X when they discontinued that and X prices went up. Although the X had that 'halo' phone type kudos surrounding it afterwards despite the XS being better!

Re screen scratches.... if you don't have a protector on it, you WILL have scratches .... but it depends if they are significant enough to bother you. Just don't go looking at your screen under bright light with it turned off, or you'll be in micro-scratch OCD hell.

I am pretty impressed with the Spigen Glas-R been on since day one and no issues. 2nd is still unused in the draw

I agree, I think the 13 is going to be more akin to the equivalent of an S model in previous years. Less than one year since the X was released, Apple discontinued that for the XS so your right.

Possibly labelling the 13 as an 'S' model may not do it proper justice as it has hardware upgrades with the 13 cameras and smaller notch etc. plus making it marginally thicker for the bigger battery (which is a key seller). On the software side, the 120mHz Pro Motion display on the software side is a big jump for the refresh rate and will be enough for some to upgrade along with improved video etc. So maybe more of a hardware/software leap forward than the old 'S' versions. Lets see tonight! I totally get why people would wait for the 14 though, especially given those leaked renders!
