Currently own the 11 Pro.
my 2 years (20 months) are up and Ito sell the 11 pro and upgrade to 13 Pro.

Any thoughts / advice on pro vs pro max. Finding it hard to decide. I like the larger pro size as text easier to read, but worry how much larger ithe phone is as I carry it in my pocket

on a side note, any recommendations for good folio cases compatible with magsafe accessories?

I know someone posted a screenshot earlier of the prices for the iUP but can anyone actually see the iUP anywhere in the Apple Store App ? Seems like its been removed (it used to be a heading when you tapped on your profile pic in the top right within the 'Shop' tab along the bottom) ?
Choose ‘iPhone‘ under ‘shop by product’ on the ‘shop’ tab and keep scrolling down until you see ‘easily upgrade to the latest iphone’

The max does take getting a bit of used, but after about a week with my 12 pro max I got used to it. The only real downside is it quite heavy. The benefits of a larger screen for watching content and the much better battery life make it worth it.

Anyone not made their mind up yet? I’m now mulling over a pros and cons list of Pro vs standard. Might have to change my vote 🤦🏻‍♂️😂
Me. The 12 Pro Max is a great phone, though battery health is down to 87% already so not sure how well it would hold up for another year. I had always planned to update so the money’s there and burning a hole, but the updates aren’t so significant. With an M1 12.9 IPP I have a large screen available to me, so my current thought is to go from the max to the standard pro seeing as camera features are now identical and the battery improvement of the pro brings it to/slightly better than the 12 max was and it’ll save some weight/be easier to hold than the max.

I’ve got £780 from MM on offer if I send off, though as I like to transfer phone to phone I think i might go down the kiosk option for which I could get £750 (and mean I didn’t need to drop off the 12 until I have the 13 so long as it arrives in the 24th). With those prices the 12 has cost me about £650 for the year (purchase price minus sale price). And best guess is that getting the 13 pro for a year then selling it next would cost the same ish for the year.
Looking at current 11 prices they seem to have lost half as much again in year 2, so if I sold the 12 next year I’d probably be looking at say £450 for it.
So spend circa £600 to update this year and i guess the same again next and have the latest and greatest for the next 12 months, or keep the 12 for the year then spend circa £900 next year to update. By the logic (if that’s correct?) £300 (2x £600 for updating both years, minus £900 if I just updated next) to update for the year has me swayed back to getting the 13 and if I go for the pro over the pro max I’ll have to spend less now (but get a bit less back later). £300 for better photos etc for the next year? Hmm.

Sweet, that’s me pre approved for the 13 pro 256 Sierra blue!

Better pay off the loan on the 12 pro now

I’ve just done this for the first time. What happens on Friday? Do I come back to the app and complete the checkout process?

I’m glad I’m not the only one. Keep going back and forth to standard to pro 13. Coming from the pro 12 I’m thinking pro but the idea of a lighter phone is really tempting me.

What are those on IUP doing this year? Tempted to move to the 24 monthly payments and just trade in my 12 Pro, seems like that’s what they’re pushing this year. I know I can always make a bit more selling elsewhere and paying off the loan, but the convenience of IUP was a big draw for me. Even bigger draw if I can order the phone to be delivered and just post my old one afterwards.

Not sure I’m missing anything, but isn’t doing the monthly payments (plus AC+) and then trading in at the end and Apple sorting out closing the loan basically the same as the IUP, just no in-store requirement?
I’m wondering the same. Can you over pay the monthly payments. I’m thinking of signing up on Friday then overpay the loan with the amount that I get from MM from selling my 12 PM

I'm on a XR at the moment and I have just ordered a new 12 pro on eBay for £750 🤞

Was between that and the regular 13, think I will prefer the 12 pro, never had one of the 'pro' phones. Looking forward to more than one back camera!

Same here. Im waiting on EE (not buying outright) to release their prices on Friday. If its pretty much the same per month cost ill upgrade it otherwise cancel MM order and keep my iPhone 12 Pro Max for another year.

Yeah, think I’ll wait to see EE pricing too. Either a Pro in Sierra Blue or standard in Starlight.

I have an iPhone 12 mini 64 GB - upgrading to the 13 Pro Max (I've usually had the pro version of iPhones or similar). But I'm planning on getting the 128gb. I have 2TB iCloud... is it worth the upgrade for the 256? Like I have 20gb or so on my current mini free so idc about local storage. But hearing the news about the Pro Max resolution only being available on 256gb + has me a tad concerned I'm not making the right choice.

I do 0 video editing BTW, take a dSLR when I travel for photography.

Does anyone have any experience of Apple trade in?

My 11Pro has the very faintest of scratches on the screen. You cant feel it and can only see it in certain lights. Would this be picked in the process and "down graded"? Not sure what the expectations are here as the question asks:
  • The touchscreen and back glass are undamaged
Is damaged cracked etc?

I traded in a phone with similar characteristics and got full trade-in value for it. Same with a laptop. But YMMV.

Another one here. Coming from the 11 pro. Likewise always had the pro.
Didn't get the 12 pro last year as was on the Upgrade Program and to go in store to upgrade was a pain with covid and the fact I am not near an apple store.
Missing the 12 pro last year has made me think I could just go with the non pro version this year. Sure its not as good, just not sure I need the pro items in daily use.

I’ve had the general normal scratches you’d expect on a screen used for a year and a small dent in the steel frame and it was fine - don’t think they’re really that picky.

I have a 128GB pro max. I just checked and I have only used 45GB of storage.

I have iCloud for my photos and Spotify for my music. I really could get away with a 64GB to be honest 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've pre-authorised my order for the 13 Pro Max. If I had the 12 pro max I think I would stick but i downsized to the 12 pro last time round and am keen to go back to the bigger screen. Going for the new blue - I'm not sure I am overly keen but I don't want graphite again and I've had white in the past (gold doesn't appeal at all). I always use a case so its only the camera module colour that matters!

likewise. i would classify myself as a power user but clearly not in terms of storage as I use less the 64 GB so just go for the lowest storage option each time. at least its cheaper that way!

Is there a way to preorder (or prepare a preorder) for two phones?
You can get an extra phone “ready” like I have (as I need to get two) but I’m not sure if we’d be able to put both through at the same time on Friday or not. Might be quicker to save your two as favourites and add them to your basket on Friday morning. I think I might end up doing that.
