Whats everyones view on the 128gb Pro Res 4K omission?

Is anyone forcefully getting the 256gb to make use of this feature?

I'm not too sure which way to go although I have never even taken 4K videos on my current 12 pro over the past 11 months.

I've stopped using the Betas for IOS now... its a nice bonus when opening up the new phone to have a new OS to go with
I used to update as soon as the betas are released up until the last 2 years. I now update when the GM/RC is released. I can;t afford to have all the bugs and battery life issues and following the beta cycle upgrade thread all the time.

There was also no mention of the always on lockscreen which is quite disappointing.

I think the chances of me ever needing/wanting to record in ProRes are almost 0.
4K 60fps Dolby Vision is more than enough quality for my videos.

If you're not a 'pro' who needs ProRes and you don't need the 256GB then save yourself some money and get the 128GB. Just my two cents.

Am I right in thinking Barclays partner finance is different to the iPhone upgrade programme? and I would have to pay off the loan with barclays and join up to the IUP for a fresh phone? bit confused as in the apple store app, under my iphone it says 'This device is enrolled in the iPhone upgrade programme' last year I just remember pre ordering the 12 pro and selecting barclays finance for 24 months option.

The Barclays loan used to be called the iPhone Payments Plan, different to the iPhone Upgrade Plan. The latter used to be more popular because people like getting a new phone each year.

Music Magpie have offered me £550 with their code adding £30, for my iPhone 12 Pro 256GB.

Thoughts? There will be £90 leftover on my loan to pay.

I did the same, £740. Great price.
Yeah that's what I did, I am thinking I might take it a step further next year and sell early August as its been said that's when the phone holds a high trade in value. You don't feel the pain of giving up the phone a few weeks if you have a similar backup phone.

Can anyone who has saved a preorder tell me if its possible to do more than one? I want to pre-pre-order two phones....

Also the explicatory text says they are going to charge me £0 upfront but having got halfway through the process, my NatWest app is saying the charge is for the full £949....only me or have I got the wrong end of that stick?

[LONG POST WARNING!]

So - though I would actually compare specs, on what I think is important, before finally making my decision!!!

iPhone 12 vs iPhone 13 vs iPhone 13 Pro

So all in all, there is barely any difference EVEN when looking at the supposedly higher specced 'Pro' version - other than literally an extra 3-5hrs battery time and a marginally better camera and a slightly better and quicker Chipset (even the display on the 12 is exactly the same as the 13 Pro, other than brightness!).

That's now sealed my fate, I'll be skipping the cycle this year but will be watching on the side-lines whilst you all place your orders tomorrow!!!!

Enjoy!

Had a chat convo with EE CS (in India) regarding loyalty rewards. Got told they are not allowed to discuss any loyalty rewards on iPhone this year. I pushed him for a straight Yes or No answer to the point where he goes oh you are asking me to confirm something that will get me fired and when he mentioned that I politely apologised and re assured him that is the last thing i would want. No discount is bigger than someone’s livelihood.

is that a new product following the apple car? :D

new Loans don't always have a negative impact on portages etc.. in most cases it shows lenders that you can manage the payments, not default or miss any etc.

lots of new loans or credit cards etc can indicate higher borrowing but its all down to personal circumstances..

how much of your available credit are you using.. (i.e. have you maxed out your cards).. if you pay credit cards off in full each month then that's a positive.

Thanks. I basically pay off the card every month and have a near perfect credit rating because of it.

To be honest if a 24 month credit for max 1500 £ makes a difference to a lender I would be shocked, however, if you have the available cash without going credit it would be better to be safe than sorry...... FWIW

Yeah my feeling too, but probably not worth the risk I’m thinking

this time last year I was applying for a new mortgage and my mortgage adviser recommended not taking out any new loans 'just in case'. he said it probably wouldn't matter but it wasn't worth the risk, hard decision but getting the right mortgage trumps getting the iphone! I still got the new iphone though but bought on credit card and paid off on time which he said was ok because I already had the credit card (he also recommended not applying for a new one)

Thanks, that’s really helpful. I think I will just be cautious and pay in full.

You can set up multiple pre orders but may have to go into each one separately tomorrow

WOW - Argos just valued my iPhone 12 128gb at £519??!?! What the feck....?!!!!! 😱
Yeah. My 12 Pro Max 128GB in perfect condition just got valued at £619 vs £500 for an Apple trade-in.

Also, looking at the the FAQs and the how-it-works stuff on the site it looks to me as if calling it a "trade-in" is selling it a bit short. As far as I can tell there is no need to buy a new phone from Argos, it's more of a Music Magpie "we buy used phones" scheme where the payment gets sent by bank transfer as opposed to being issued as an Argus credit note which would at least force you to spend the proceeds at Argos even if not on a replacement phone. Do other people agree or is there some catch that I didn't find that does restrict it to being a stricter trade-in program?

This really does look almost too good to be true.

Can't actually check out on the Argos trade in site.....the continue button stays greyed out no matter the choices made (on the page where you put in acct and sort code). Anyone else?
