Cripes... I completely disregarded the pre-pre-order as I planned to buy outright and mistakenly thought it was only for the financing option, glad I looked! - hope it doesn't get too confusing on go live tomorrow and getting confused between a manual order, looking for my favourites or having this pre-order popping up and throwing off my muscle memory flow 😆

Glad I did cause my phone inexplicably thinks my preferred delivery address is work (which I've barely been to in 18 months!) in spite of the fact that I've made about 20 orders in the past year all automatically delivered to my home. Anyway... I've checked the default card and delivery on the MacBook and two ipads and everything looks good to go BEFORE THE STORE GOES DOWN 😅

All this and I guarantee it's going to want me to manually type my home address in as it does every year without fail!
good point!

for those buying tomorrow.. make sure your address and card details are up to date... leave it till tomorrow at your peril... once you see this tomorrow

Damn it's decision time. I got rid of my 12 Mini last week but regretting it now.

13 Mini (128GB) @ £679
12 Mini (64GB) @ £579 just doesn't seem a good deal when the 13 is only £100 more.

I really made a mistake selling my mint condition 12 Mini for £400 😂

MusicMagpie have 'pristine' 12 Minis for around £500 but don't include the original box etc, and again, only £179 more for a brand new 13 Mini with double the storage and a better battery.

Someone decide for me..
Go for the pro model this time. Atleast you'll have an upgrade this way 🙂

Spoke to EE, upgrades team said they have an NDA with apple and can’t announce any pricing until tomorrow morning.

advisor said he will phone me at 9:45am and he’s confident he can remove the £100 fee, he also said I will be able to pick my plan and complete the upgrade in the morning and then it can be submitted at 1pm when he can officially order it for me.
Sorry but I don’t believe this for one minute. The networks wait until the last second before they update tariffs. Thinking back to last year I think EE didn’t update till around 1255 which is early for them.

Defo go 13 Mini - I only got rid of my 12 Mini because battery life and health was so bad

It must be better this time round?

Buying a second hand 12 mini you risk picking one up with 82% battery health and that’s far from ideal

Just checked my details and my mobile number was incorrect! Make those final checks!

Great point. Think that's persuaded me to go for the 13 Mini. Intend to keep this one at least a couple of years if Apple aren't releasing a 'Mini-sized' iPhone in the foreseeable future.

quite a productive day today;
  • ESR Ammonite screen protectors en route from Amazon (I've had the standard ones each time for ages)
  • Sequoia Green leather case arrived & looks great
  • re-did preorder prep to take out £490 trade-in option as Argos / LikeWize said £660 & I just cba with eBay right now. glad to have 14-days to get it to them too.
  • correct AMEX card (with cashback) selected for tomorrows excitement
My 12 Pro is blue & I'm not crazy about the new paler blue, so I'm going gold for the first time ever which I think will look great in a dark green case - but nothing is forever ...

Last year I missed out from Apple direct, so foolishly went with Argos who didn't have the stock. John Lewis came up trumps and I did a click & collect from nearby Waitrose on the Saturday AM, but it was torture watching all the DPD / DHL harassment posts 😂

For anyone looking a good quality clear case :

I've been using this on my 12 Pro for 1 year - Really good quality, slightly raised for screen protection and no yellowing! Would highly recommend.

last year they received my phone from Royal Mail on the Friday (from the tracking) but I didnt' get a 'it's received email until the following Monday Morning. they then sent payment that afternoon... those weekends count in your 21 days even though they don't process them over the weekend.

pretty sure MM's return service is 48h tracked so not next day.

I've always given myself 7 clear days to get it into them and processed.
Sending mine in on Saturday instead of Monday so hopefully they will get it on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. My 21 days are up on 27/28th.

This thread feels like coming to an old home!

have followed with interest since the announcement. Was going to go 24 monthly payments, but then thought - I’m going to Apple for a mortgage relatively soon - does anyone know / have any ideas whether the loan will cause an issue? Have an otherwise excellent credit rating.

TL;DR - it's not worth the risk...

Official Equifax advice - Try not to open new credit lines in the six months before applying for a mortgage. This could increase your debt-to-income ratio, which may reflect badly on your ability to repay any mortgage loans.

Official Experian advice - getting new credit just before or during the mortgage application process isn't the best timing. Why? For one thing, a temporary drop is typical when you open a new account, and you can't accurately predict how your score will change. If it drops enough to move you from "good" to "fair" credit, for example, you may no longer qualify for your loan. A lower credit score may also cause your lender to bump up your interest rate.

remember if you have apple care too, then cancel that by calling apple 0800 107 6285.

they will refund pro-rata and send that back to Barclays, who will in turn pay you
Is there any way to view Apple Care status on any of the Apple apps - can’t quite remember if I still have this or not?!

Planning on going from a gold 64GB iPhone 11 Pro Max to a 128GB iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Not sure what colour to go for yet, suspect I’ll go for the Sierra Blue, but the silver may also be a nice change so we’ll see.

Double the base storage, much improved cameras and battery life, better performance, along with the improvements the 12 series brought such as 5G and a new design are enough to get me to upgrade. That and the £400 I’m getting for this phone which will be passed down to a friend.

Think I shall be ordering from Amazon due to them typically offering the interest free option of purchasing over 5 instalments.
