Hey guys

Just went to my local apple store and picked the following cases for my incoming Deep Purple Pro :

Leather : Midnight
Silicone : Elderberry
Leather : Ink

Honestly such nice colours this year!!

Call EE make sure the order has gone through. Last year my XK order number didn’t even tho it said confirmed. I called and they put it through again via phone and luckily got release day handset
 
I received any email with my order number which tracks on their site. You can call them and ask for your order number if you haven't received it in an email or text message.

Am feeling confident in my choice of deep purple, gold and silver though feeling I might as well have ordered the space black too for a Full choice next Friday. ☺️

Silly question but when can I see a PM in the flesh? Next Friday or can I pop to my local Apple store now to play with them?

Agree for a few years I wanted bright white with a gold band though now am thinking that could look tacky. Just glad the gold is not that pinky, rose type gold they used to have (that people said was largely for the Asian market)

I woke up in a panic this morning as the leather midnight was sold out for launch yesterday ( even in stores). However this morning at 7am all the stores had stock of all cases for collection so I ordered on the app and went to my local (Apple Store Milton Keynes).

Not even 1 person in the store and no iPhone 14 branding or cases on display. Even their employees said “ hey can we sell these” and manager replied saying “Embargo was lifted so everyone can get all accessories now”.

I hadn’t ordered the “ink” but asked to see it and they opened one for me at which point I pulled out the Amex

The more I see that Elderberry the more I want to order one.
Might pop into the Apple Store next weekend once I have the phone and see if they’ll let me try it on.

People stop posting pictures of the leather cases in the blue shades. I vowed never again but these look so nice! For reference mine get scratches like the green one within a few hours 😏
also the shade remind me of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Which is even more tempting!

Honestly mate the elderberry and ink are best ones. I always use black / midnight most of the time but this year those two are my favourites! Would highly recommend!!

Only issue is I took that Elderberry one out for 10 second to take a pic for you guys and it’s already got our cat’s hair on it!!

Will need some regular maintenance!!

You 100% need to buy the “ink” colour - such a nice bluey/purpley black! ( sorry I know those aren’t real words but you get what I’m saying )

Getting a “pro“ to install a screen protector back in the day when they were just flappy bits of film with no alignment tools etc, I can see would be tempting and often worth the money. But with many current protectors offering guide frames and adhesives seemingly being much more forgiving, I don’t think any people would benefit now, and you may as well save some money and do it yourself. Also I wouldn’t class Apple store employees as always being ”pros”. Last time I used belkin and had Apple install it, the assistant installed a standard 6 protector on my brand new 6+. I was honestly embarrassed for them! Ok so they took it off and got the right one on, and nicely, but just shows they are blindly using a tool rather than it being any form of talent.

Already kindly answered by another, but I'd add that I always get the 2- or 3-pack protectors from various online shops. The ESR ones come with a plastic guide so the protector goes on in the right place without any bubbles. Never had a problem with them, and if you really mess it up you have spares to try again :)

Got the Ink case already, but Apples photos made it look a lot more purple on their website, don’t get me wrong it’s a nice colour in hand, but think I might have to switch to a silicone Elderberry.
