How likely is a VAT cut maybe worth holding off for a bargain?

Not much been said about VAT cut. It will also depend when you want the device. If there is a cut you could be waiting for weeks for delivery of phone.

The Deep Black doesn't look too far off last year's Graphite to me
Agreed. Looking forward to seeing some hands on videos

I stopped ordering from Apple these phones can be picked up from Currys without a wait especially standard IPhone 14 where demand may be lower for upgrades

Kinda disappointed not getting the same feeling as iPhone 13 Pro last year.

I do think this is better upgrade than it was 11-12-13 but I think a lot of people are put off by the price. I was prepared for something like £1150 but it would have higher base storage which wasn’t to be.

At the moment I think buyers may either trade off and get the Pro instead of Pro Max or even drop to the Plus.

I would never buy a device like this from Curry’s. At a push I would get from John Lewis but never anything Dixons related.

I'm the opposite, was disappointed last year but quite satisfied with the upgraded features for the 14. I imagine this is largely to most of those features were being rumored for the 13 at the time.

If that happens we'll just end up paying that bit back over the next 30 years ! Like a mortgage on your phone !

Just be aware that leather cases for iPhone 14 pro are priced £52.80 through employee perks programs (instead of £59). usually amazon is selling with the same discount, but not yet available.

Simple question about IUP, apologies if it's a FAQ :
I upgrade my iPhone every single year on release day (I usually get the base Pro model) and sell the old one on eBay.
I don't mind paying the full price upfront. I don't do carrier contracts.

eBay can be some faff and risk, so I might switch to MusicMagpie this year (easier but slightly less money)

How does IUP compare with these options ? Is it a good deal for faithful upgraders ?

I'm going for a 14 Pro Max in silver, 512GB.

Wife is going for a 14 Pro in purple, 512GB.

Both salty about the massive price increase, but as dbrose above says, this looks like a great upgrade versus previous years.

Ordered her the silicone Elderberry case whereas I'm holding on a super thin case from Peel.

Feels a similar level of upgrade IMO. The 14 Pro's Dynamic Notch is a big change, and the camera spec upgrade is a huge one, but the 13 Pro introduced ProMotion and a slimmer notch.

The price is definitely going to put a lot of people off from upgrading, especially if you pay outright for your device.

Apple top spec iPhone has essentially doubled in price over the last decade.
