Oh right. I’ve seen these and other device drop off kiosks pop up in loads of supermarkets recently. It’s strange they have their own separate opening hours when it’s just a kiosk. It’s also pointless them being open past 5pm on Sundays.

Maybe it was full up, if that can happen? Fingers crossed it works for you tomorrow!

It ended up a complete cockup :(.

The Smart Kiosk wouldn't read the QR code so eventually I logged into the machine using order number. Once I get it working I placed the phone inside the machine (which was pretty grotty on the inside) and then waited and waited and waited, eventually a message pops up "no technician is available, do you want to cancel or wait?". I chose to wait and about 5 minutes later it starts processing and the first 3 check lines go green, then it hangs again, 5 minutes later it pops up a message that the price has been reassessed to £97 (from £384) due to condition issues and do I want to accept? This is for a mint iPhone with no scratches or marks anywhere, even the frame is pristine. Obviously I said no and retrieved the phone.

I now have a rebuy collection booked for Wednesday, on the strength of the recommendations in this thread.

I checked out on September 7th, I got a reminder e mail yesterday saying don’t forget we can only guarantee your current value for 21 days. So I’m assuming that’s from the 7th.
Dang just realised that I actually checked out on the 29 August so am at 14 days now. Oh well maybe I'll see if they can change to the Asda kiosk and if not I'll take the £20 hit on the saved quote.

Just found another code 'PHONETEN' but now cannot get into my MM account to try it on my saved quote. Anyone else currently experiencing difficulties logging in?

Can get into mine. I did have issues last month and clearing browser cache sorted it

Off topic... how the hell was this 5 years ago 😲

I didn't jump on the X I got the 8 Plus because it was to small for me to use, but still I remember the hype and talk around this.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what time ordering for launch day collection starts on Friday (is it 6am?). Also does anyone have any experience of doing this?

quick question lads/ladettes: how easy is it to secure the Barclays monthly financing option for purchase?
i know this thread is moving lightening fast but can anyone advise on this..?

not at all in a bad financial position, no bad credit history, i've had network contracts for years.. i just don't use credit very much. i just would like to know how stringent they are with approvals!

For me, it was easy… the process was so quick that I hadn’t intended to go through with it… I just did…

Now the lending criteria I don’t think is strict, but I’m a very high earner with mortgages being my main debt

That’s not good. I’ve got mine booked with MM using smartdrop and I’d class mine as mint as well.

So it seems that when you put it in there is someone “on the other end” checking it.

I presume they can’t see as good as of in hand though.

Got me nervous now as I’ve got mine and sisters to do at weekend.

Well.. I applied and was approved, then apple messed it up and I applied again so I had 2 applications sitting there and both approved. I'd say it's a relatively low value item to finance so you should be ok. Who knows.

It's only like a contract with a network. They do the credit checks for monthly payments too.

I get accepted every time no problems average income home owner no other debt but think they can be strange as brother was refused the other year and he had good credit
