I'd really love to know if you can use the AOD in Sleep mode. It would be really cool to be able to glance at the time during the night without needing a bedside clock.
 
How does pickup work from Apple Store? I've never pre-ordered an iPhone before and it tells me I have a check in window on 16th September 15:15-15:30, but I will receive a text when ready to collect. Do I have to wait for the text or do I turn up at the Apple store for 15:15? The store is a 40 min drive away and don't want to then not get a text confirming until 15:15 and then me getting there later than the check in window.

I am no expert with this but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I think it could arrive earlier than whatever date(s) you may have been given in October though.

...the clue is in the name - 'space' black!

Historically, no 'space black' iPhone has been a 'deep' black colour that you're referring to above AFAIK.
 
urgh.. my watch date seems to have slipped a day on apple.com to Thursday 22nd now... hopefully once it starts making progress here, it comes back into line.

I have used an app for years called Nite Time. After 10pm when the phone goes on charge it automatically opens the app.

I think so too, fantastic colour.

I still think the phone that blew me away most was the original iPhone 5, coming from the iPhone 4. The weight difference was incredible (in a good way) and that colour was perfect. The extra row of apps on the home screen was a welcome addition, too.

You will almost certainly have a text before hand or may not get at all for the annual phone pickups. The text is normally for when you have ordered other stuff. Just make sure you aren't there before your check in window because you will be turned away or told to wait until your checkin window, anyone turning up in a check in window before yours will be pushed in front. For example if someone has a checkin window of 12:00-12:15 and you turn up at 15:05 and they turn up at 15:10, they will get priority and pushed in front of you. If you are within your window they will just join you queue.

I would wait at least until your app says Ready for Pickup irrelevant of text.

This forum is going to pickup even more traction tomorrow, then on Friday through the roof. Late Friday will be all about how are people restoring and why is it so slow (it's reindexing!!!)

And there aren’t enough depth comparisons on the main camera. Peter McKinnon video was just poor. MKBHD was just like go to Peter’s video for camera for further review.

And I knew it! Dynamic Island is only there just for a glance to see music playing, maps directions, etc.. Your not supposed to really interact with it, use the home screen app icon to open the app. Otherwise just look at it and move on.

Its just following last year’s review template and churning videos out for the sake of likes and views.

Yeah, i feel the same. I only watched The Verge, MKBHD and read a few text reviews and it seems like they are just desperate to call out it's not that much of a jump from 12.

Ok, that's obvious, you say that literally every year but tell us how good the phone actually runs. Give us real life use cases and observations without the lazy comparisons to the previous model. It's so predictable

I think for the first time since the original iPhone, I'll be setting up as new. I'll be taking a backup and storing it locally just in case I want to use it

Interesting - just had my funds taken from my bank - 19th-21st estimated still, still in processing...
