I have a Watch 8 order from Apple which still says "being prepared for dispatch...delivers Tomorrow" so you're not alone!

Might just return my Series 8. Judging by the reviews, no difference whatsoever. Crash detection is useless for me and the temperature stuff probably wont apply to me. Only valid reason for me to buy would be resell value for the S9. Might just stick with my S7.

If you did have photos/video of its condition prior to sending it, I’d be writing to their head office with that as evidence saying it was damaged in transit which is not your responsibility and not accepting the response of their live chat advisor who probably doesn’t care.

From what you mentioned earlier, it doesn’t seem like you took photos etc. like you would have done usually if you were selling on eBay etc. so you’re in a tough spot and I feel for you 😔

I’d be filling out the form on gov.U.K to get them in the small claims court.

That is true. Hoping there's a redesign for S9 but not counting on it. Watch Ultra looks so good but I just cant justify spending £849 on a watch where I wont even use the features that are provided.

You get to strut past the queues trying to buy on the day and get priority on the in-store pick up queue, if that strikes your fancy.

This thread takes me back - anyone remember the OG iPhone launch - the 'negative screen' issues? All the rumours flying about the iPhone 2 having a front facing camera? Unlimited data from O2, being in fact, limited, then them acquiescing under pressure.

Then we had iPhone 3G but no decent 3G networks, iPhone 4 and antennagate and ermagawd its glass *smash*.

iPhone 5 and its scratchy bezels - then whatever iPhone it was that was bending in folks pockets...

Why do we do this to ourselves over a phone lol.

I'd not have changed an S7 for an 8, you might be better off keeping your old one if you still have it!

the depreciation alone next year will bring tears to your eyes if you want an S9!

Yeah I still have my S7. MM were offering £205 for it. The depreciation is my only concern heading into the S9 but it's just no worth spending an extra £240 for the S8 which offers nothing.

Noticed a couple of scuffs on my band on my 13pm am tempted to take it into Carphone and trade it in for £600… I will look £100 on what MM have offered but will have that piece of mind not sure what is worth more!

Yeah, i'll still get one for an unboxing and comparison with S7 etc but I just know that 49mm is gonna look like an ipad on my wrist.

As a follow up to my complete clusterf*** that was trying to trade my iPhone 12 in to MM via their SmartKiosk and only being offered £97, ReBuy picked the iPhone up yesterday and I've just had the email confirming it's been checked and will be paid at full quote price later this evening.

Oh man - I’m planning on doing a smartkiosk drop. Was there anything that you think triggered the devalue??

No update from Amazon. Why do I have a feeling like they completely overdone pre orders this year. They stopped taking pre orders for the Pros in any configuration. Makes me wonder if they screwed it this year to the point in which they don’t even know when the current orders will be going out

The only time I’ve ever pre-ordered anything through Amazon was the PS5. On launch day, we received a salt lamp in the box instead of the PS5 because it had been stolen somewhere along the line and it happened to that many people it made the news. Thankfully our mate had done a second pre-order as a backup and gave that to us.

Tl;dr, never use Amazon for anything like that. Or phones.
