What model are you getting?

Kicking myself for not but based on reports of their reputation I didn't think it would be necessary.

I honestly don't see how it could have got that damage in transit so I am left to conclude two things:

1. Dropped when unpacked.

2. Someone along the line has a side hustle of swapping out good screens for bad for some reason - sounds kind of wild but I cannot think of any other scenario. I mean, they have the in-house skills to do that.

What can I do, basically nothing as they will have this all covered in T&C's so I'm over a barrel.

As someone else suggested, all you can do now is request the phone back and repair the screen and resell it (at a deflated price unfortunately).

i feel for you my friend. Was it still insured by you?
 
Based on their stance they would refute any photographic or video evidence - at least with ebay you might stand a chance if a buyer challenged you but as MM is the buyer they have all the power. This is a well-oiled machine on how to handle claims that are contrary to their "findings", some I imagine are spurious. Their word on its condition is absolute and final and it's either Accept Offer or Decline Offer. I know how to present my point calmly and eloquently but they just shut you down - to the extent the agent just Ended the Chat abruptly and said that was their position, end of.
I really do feel for you, I have been scammed and lost a fair amount of money so know how it feels.
 
I know their reputation is good, everyone seems to not have a bad word to say about them but something has seriously gone wrong with my order. I honestly cannot fathom it, whilst it sounds completely bonkers to say this looking at the photos of the screen they showed me to back up their position I would say someone has swapped out a damaged screen with mine. No way to prove this, and does sound ridiculous but honestly, I was shocked at the screen they showed to back up their assessment - it was the difference between someone who tosses their phone around and drops it to my perfect unscratched and unchipped phone screen.

This has ruined the iPhone 14 purchase as I don't think I can now afford to buy it as, like everyone else, I rely on the re-sale value of my previous phone. The irony, I opted for Music Magpie this year as opposed to eBay to avoid these shenanigans.
Was it insured to travel? Can you claim back that way? I had a repair that UPS picked up for Apple that, when it got There, had a smashed screen but it was sorted because I claimed and assured it had been pristine on collection. Might be worth a try

I'd expect it to come in that time frame tbh.. might be earlier in that window rather than later if anything

Now there's the rub - AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss expired on Monday 12th September. I FOOLISHLY let it go as the new phone was arriving tomorrow and was going to renew it on that one. I mean, really, could it get any worse?
try your local citizens advice... but I imagine, as you've said, they'll have this all wrapped up in their T & C's.

otherwise, trying to make a public spat, twitter etc is good at generating interest!

You may have missed my message, but do you have any other insurance you could use if Royal Mail / MM fight falls through?
