Music Magpie - Absolute Crooks

Just to say thanks to the posters that offered suggestions and support for the horrible experience I have had with Music Magpie. Based on the pictures MM used to back up their claim of extensive screen damage I would swear it’s a totally different screen to my pristine one, however the rational side of me must assume someone in the warehouse dropped the phone, causing the damage, and then just pushed it up the pipeline for assessment.

Whilst I am still very upset that they have been so disingenuous I am also trying to put some perspective on it in terms of the bigger picture. All the same, I have emailed their CEO directly making my case but don’t hold out much hope, however, you have to try something otherwise you just feel so powerless.

An interesting development - I do have a couple of friends who are journalists for different national newspapers who see a potential story angle for their consumer / personal finance sections. Basically, beware of these trade-in companies as you have little consumer protection if they claim the item is damaged on receipt. They are running it past the relevant section editors and they may be in touch to hear my story but we’ll wait and see.

Anyone with DHL have their tracking that only says ‘order received’?

Same here #TeamDHL - Absolutely no movement from order received at 16.07 - I’m confident it will change by 8am and out for delivery thereafter.

We should get our 1 hour slots by 9:15am I reckon.

For Syncreon tracking, are we to use the delivery reference number we got in the dispatch email today in the “Order No. / Delivery No.” section? And the apple order number ie W12345… in the “Web order number” section?
 
Having previously resigned myself to having to wait until the end of October (By complete chance) I saw giffgaff had stock of the 14 pro max today, panicking between colours as they gradually went out of stock I abandoned my space black choice for deep purple in 512gb. Stoked.

Then the realisation that, whilst next day delivery is listed on the product page, I’m also flying to Barcelona on Sunday and I may have just bought a phone only to have to float around in delivery limbo for a week whilst I’m not even here. No progress on the order all day until finally…

Same. Ordered from giffgaff at 1230 today and just got DPD notification too.

Where your charged? If so, it’s a matter of time

Does not appear to have charged me or changed status.

I did a ‘pay in 5’ thing - which may be a glitch when I ordered because I’ve not seen it on any other iPhones there for this years pre orders.

Like a special award to certain accounts? Never thought it was random. Got me thinking if it’s based on buying habits- perhaps?

Meanwhile it’s not looking likely my new phone will be arriving via Amazon tomorrow!

I’m not sure anyone has. Reports were from Amazon bases in Europe and customers cards charged.

Pretty sure no reports here of uk Amazon peeps getting any more tracking action.
