HE'S BEEN!

bravo Sir Alex of DPD for 1106AM. we now have to wait for Mrs H to finish her Teams call and open her surprise 14 Pro Silver ...

never bought more than one before; a black Pro for me & a black 14 regular for the kid who's battled on with the broken X for a good old while.

If your partner and kid don't know you've order them it will be a great surprise for them.

Currys update: just had a call, they have no silver phones in stock and offered me a purple 14 pro. Purple isn’t for me so declined. A little annoyed they didn’t tell me this yesterday but thank god I have my Apple Store reservation silver 14 pro for later

Morning all 👋🏻

Followed the thread over the last week and plenty of previous threads but haven’t posted this year until today.

Just thought I’d share my experience, had a scout at other options online such as doing the IUP and then getting a sim only deal from somewhere but nobody really beat O2 for price and bolt ons, who I’m currently with so decided to stick with them on a Switch Up plan which I assume is the new name for O2 Refresh. Only downside is their roaming signal can be dreadful at times.

Managed to preorder at 13:03, went for the 14 Pro Max 256gb in Space Black after having a 12 Pro 128gb in Pacific blue for the last couple of years (don’t know why they discontinued that colour, but Deep Purple seems like a great alternative)

O2 were faultless as they have been on the last few orders I’ve had with them X, Xs and 12 Pro. Delivered with DPD just after 1000, to neighbour, the only downside, and I say it with tongue in cheek, is I’m away abroad so won’t be able to unbox it until next Friday but, faultless service from O2 and DPD, nice of them to leave with a neighbour when I explained the circumstances despite them stating they can’t do that due to O2’s delivery instructions.

Away from all that spiel happy launch day everybody, enjoy! 🤙🏻

Wow take dog out 9 pages to catch up on 😁
I now have a rule that when i step away and come back go to latest page -2. So much easier than wasting spending 30 mins to get to where we are only to realise you have to do something else and will be 10+ pages behind again lol.

Anyway 2 hours to go till my 1pm meeting and my phone arriving :)

Got to restore a RDS database in AWS as proof of concept pre-prod first and if all goes well we are go go go for the go/no go meeting and I can actually look at my phone lol

Anyone after a cheap, good quality case from ESR for just over £8:

I got it and boy it's... thick ! You see the lovely color of your phone but you see clear case all around too.

Not a fan.

husband and dad of the year right here folks!

I just give my wife my cast offs!

Funfact, i was actually turned down for a job as an apple genius and the reason they gave was no kidding here 'was that I knew too much' 🤣
This doesn't sound like a particularly satisfying reason after going through the process. I hope there was a little more to it than that, ideally something constructive!

At least if you're not knowledgeable enough you can work on that, but if you're too knowledgeable what are you meant to do? Go and work at a competitor and share the knowledge there? :D

bill, that's not how we do things in this thread... I suggest you think about your actions and go back and correct them

It's the same as an employer saying your overqualified for a job. What the heck does that even mean. If you can do the job why does it matter.

Just the phone, the driver brings padded packaging that the phone goes into. He then seals it into another bag in front of you.

Remember to ask for a receipt with the new tracking details so you can track it to ReBuy (mine didn't give me the tracking details, though ReBuy CS were very good and kept me updated by email after I contacted them).
Really helpful info on ReBuy packaging for pickup. Thanks.

Having read at least one horror story in this thread about Music Magpie claiming a pristine phone was badly damaged on post-arrival inspection (although I have had nothing but good experiences with MM) I think for the sake of holding up the driver for 20 seconds I will take photos of the front and back of my phone resting on or in the padded packaging before the bag gets sealed up. That seems like a very simple safety measure just in case there is ever any dispute about the condition of the phone when it was put into the bag.

I'm not a lawyer but I as a layperson I would have thought that ReBuy supplying the packaging, as well as being convenient, might also be helpful in the case of a dispute because if photos were accepted as proof that it was in a certain condition at the point of collection any subsequent damage in transit could I would hope be blamed on ReBuy providing inadequate packaging.
