In anticipation of it arriving.

I’m going to do device to device for the first time. Currently using around 100gb and the rest in the the 2TB cloud.

Before I start the transfer where shall I put the physical sim? Keep in current until transfer done or put in the new phone while it’s happening?

I had the white/silver for my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's a beautiful combo, but decided not to for this release.

Finally picked my phone up, set it up and papped the crap out of it lol. The Esim transfer through iOS was crap and didn’t work.

They really need to sort that out of Esim is the future

Applied the EZ fit screen protector and that’s the first time I’ve ever used a screen protector as I can never get them aligned properly and oh my … what an invention this is. Absolutely spot on and EZ

As for the colour, it’s absolutely beautiful, I love the shiny edge. Which brings me to a conundrum. Which case as one covers that up and one doesn’t. I may end up keeping both

I was in Bromley for an eye test so popped into O2 to get an eSim and got the instant we've got none left try another store miles away! Why is it so difficult to get an eSim from O2? It was the same thing last year too. I swear the O2 stores don't like giving them out unless, I bet, you're taking out a new contract at the time! I didn't want to get one direct from O2 as I had heard horror stories of they transfer your number to the new eSim on dispatch so your line goes dead!

Also popped into the Apple Store which was busy but no queues. Deep Purple looks good, as they all do, so happy with my JL order this morning. Also checked out the Ink and Umber leather cases and both nice too but decided to stick with my Ink one that I ordered earlier this week via the EPP link kindly posted here.

Got home to find my Ink case had just arrived and also that JL are now doing 20% of the Umber (and Midnight) as so couldn't resist that for collection tomorrow as well. They don't appear to be stocking the Ink at all though.

If I can't get an eSim from a different O2 Store tomorrow, was in there last week and again none left but expecting a delivery, then it looks like I won't be able activate my new iPhone 14 Pro Deep Purple anyway! God help us if Apple make the iPhone 15 eSim only for the UK as well!

Can you not download an eSim? EE let you download it from the app.

I always recommend a fresh install of a new iPhone. I’ve seen no end of issues that appear for people that have been restoring from an iPhone that restored from another iPhone etc

I've never done a fresh install - have always restored from iPhone to new iPhone, from the time this became available a few years back.

Never had issues myself....

Not that I'm aware of as according to the O2 website they are only available from their stores or direct. It's only a QR code on a bit of paper as well!

All transfers made from 13 pro to 14 pro.

Seamless process. Only the Vodafone eSim took 5-6 minutes to come which caused a bit of discomfort. But all in all, a great transfer experience which, I think, becomes faster year on year.

And what a beauty the Purple is....! 😍

Especially when they ask you for your PIN, something I use once or maybe twice a year at best.
