Same here. I’ve got a Series 5 as I decided not to upgrade to the Series 6 or series 7. The battery life on my Series 5 is not as good as it use to be. If I feel the Ultra is too big I may well return it and get a Series 8.
On an additional note apparently the 44mm and 45mm bands do fit the Ultra. I guess how they will look with it depends on the band. I have a black Nike sport loop I’m hoping to use with it.
All good things must come to an end.
Its been hell of ride this year especially with MR admin team but in the end we got there and its all done and dusted now.
Hopefully next year it will be different.

I know I'll end up getting the new AirPod Pro's as well. But not straight away (he says). AW is more important upgrade, my Series 6 battery is starting to degrade. The case is still in perfect condition.
I will use none of the elite features, but just love the look of it.
I've got a series 5 and for the first time yesterday the battery didn't last the day and I didn't do any workouts or other battery hungry tasks.
I really want the ultra but don't need any of its specialised features. I'm tempted to just get a battery replacement on the S5 (which I believe actually ends up being a unit replacement with an Apple refurbished unit).
I was surprised and pleased Apple didn't change the size, I have a load of straps and bands I need to go through, any which don't go I'll sell.

I went for the Stainless steel Watch this year a huge upgrade over the Aluminium I normally buy. It looks so much better especially with the Milanese loop. Although the Milanese loop is taking a bit of getting used to.
I do like the Milanese loop but feel it’s not an every day band for me, opted for the black leather loop which is a mix of everyday and more formal.
How’s the weight of the Milanese?
Do wish I could have got a titanium space black again as per my s5 I sold.. after 3 years it didn’t have a scratch!
What no more remaining apple orders pending? Sticking to just the 20 cases?
I could do the same but after not upgrading for three years I feel the urge to upgrade. Also the newer models support fast charging and come with USB C charging pucks. Granted the charging puck can be bought separately. I do also like the Ultra and it looks really cool. Hopefully it’s not too big for my wrist.

My s3 was stainless steel sb but I recall that being shiny, thinking the stainless graphite might be more muted/Matt for my tastes.

Yes I’m glad too as I have several watch bands too. That said I might hold on to my Series 5 anyway as the resell value of Apple Watches is poor plus I can wear it on special occasions when the Ultra would not look good. And the phones do now support pairing with more than one watch.

Shiny new iPhone deserves shiny new accessories. But before that i still need to setup my own device. Only just finished setting up other half's device today.

It is a lot of money, but the strap on its own is £449 v approx £100 for an apple leather. Also get a sports strap thrown in, those unique Hermés faces and an extra year's warranty. I did the maths last year and was 'only' paying about £100 over the odds. The leather on the straps is unbelievable and unlike the watch, if you keep them in good condition are actually worth more a few years later when they are discontinued.
Going from a SSSB Series 4 to an Ultra. If it’s too big for my wrist (170mm) I’ll return and probably keep my S4 for another year. This thing has held up incredibly well. No way I would consider an aluminum and the stainless stelel is now priced awkwardly comparative to the Ultra. Would need to be more appealing than the S8.
So I went to Asda earlier and the MM Smart Kiosk was out of order (nearest one in action is 15 miles away). Called the helpline and she said a fault was reported on it yesterday and should be back online Wednesday afternoon - apparently it needs an engineer and a new part. Also asked about the BACS payments bouncing and she suggested that you delete and re-add your payment details before proceeding with the order. However, if you are sure the details are correct then continue as normal.
The scratching was the only thing I was worried about with the Stainless Steel (I went with Graphite as I think it scratches less than the silver), it does feel quite a bit heavier. The Milanese Loop just feels a bit uncomfortable because I can‘t seem to get the watch to fit in the same place as it did with the sport loop and with the same tightness.
I am sure I will get used to it soon, I guess it is where I am used to wearing sport bands every day for the past 8 years 😅
I feel like the BACS payment issue is a problem their end it would be a huge coincidence for all of us using the smart drop kiosk for the past two days to be stupid enough to enter our details wrong 😂😂

Even though I had the 13 Pro Max, I think using a regular 11 Pro for two weeks made me realise I don’t need the larger screen… and after having a play with my wife’s regular 14 Pro, I think I’m tempted to take this back and wait… annoyed at myself for being so indecisive.
